HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract CAG-15-186 PSE PUGET SOUND ENERGY August 21, 2015 Mr. Gregg Zimmerman Public Works Administrator City of Renton 1055 S Grady Way Renton, WA 98055 RE: Facilities Installation for Renton Highlands Library Project 105078555 Dear Mr. Zimmerman: As construction of the Renton Highlands Library nears completion, Puget Sound Energy(PSE) has determined that there is not sufficient space available on the Library property to accommodate installation of PSE's electric utility facilities to serve the Library. Sufficient space has been identified for PSE's facilities within City of Renton(City)public rights-of-way and the City requests that PSE install the facilities in the public rights-of-way. This letter expresses PSE's agreement to place our facilities to serve the Library and associated improvements under PSE service order 105078555 in City public rights-of-way conditioned on agreement by the City that in the event the City requests or requires relocation of these facilities in the future, then the City releases PSE of any obligation PSE may then have to bear costs for relocation of these facilities and the City will be responsible for costs of relocation of these facilities. In the event of such future City request or requirement,PSE commits to work cooperatively with the City to determine alternative locations for these facilities acceptable to PSE including provision by the City of adequate operating rights and operating space at such alternative locations. PSE is prepared to proceed promptly and expeditiously with the final design and construction of the facilities to serve the Library and associated improvements, and commits to so doing upon receipt of the City's written acceptance of and agreement to these conditions as evidenced by your signature, or that of another authorized City official, in the space provided below. PSE looks forward to completing this important project for the City of Renton, its citizens and King County Library System.
