RESOLUTION NO. 2877
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ENDORSING
THE RENTON SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND ISSUES, PROPOSITION NO. 1
AND PROPOSITION NO. 2, AND URGING A "YES" VOTE ON THEM.
WHEREAS, the Renton School District has before the voters on
February 4, 1992 a maintenance and operations levy known as
Proposition No. 1 ; and
WHEREAS, this levy is necessary to provide for the
continuation of the Renton School District ' s excellent educational
program; and
WHEREAS, the Renton School District has before the voters on
February 4, 1992 a construction bond, known as Proposition No . 2;
and
WHEREAS, this bond will pay for district-wide improvements to
technology, safety, maintenance, major modernization to six
elementary schools and one middle school, and other modifications
to two other middle schools and the stadium; and
WHEREAS, a 60% "Yes " vote will be required to pass these
propositions and, as well, a substantial number of votes are
necessary to validate the propositions; and
WHEREAS, these propositions are necessary to equip the schools
with improved computer and instructional technology and will permit
the Renton School District to bring its schools into compliance
with today' s building safety code requirements .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :

SECTION I . The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The City Council of the City of Renton,
Washington endorses Proposition No. 1 and Proposition No . 2 for the
Renton School District on the February 4, 1992 ballot and urges the
voters to vote "Yes" for these two propositions .
