RESOLUTION NO. 2750
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, SUPPORTING
LEGISLATION RELATING TO RECREATIONAL FISHERIES ENHANCEMENT
AND MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, citizens of the State of Washington and the City of
Renton are blessed with abundant natural resources; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is located on the southern shore of
Lake Washington and the Cedar River flows through the City of
Renton, both bodies of water representing substantial opportunities
for recreational fishing; and
WHEREAS, recreational fishing is an important factor in the
quality of life that the citizens of the city and state value
greatly; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton considers the preservation and
enhancement of anadromous fish stocks for the benefit of the area's
citizens and for future generations to be a paramount goal; and
WHEREAS, the Recreational Fish Enhancement Act proposes to
preserve and enhance salmon stock for the primary benefit of the
many citizens of the state and city who are recreational fishermen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all
respects. .
SECTION II. The City of Renton supports the Recreational Fish
Enhancement Act of 1989 as a benefit for recreational fishing.
