RESOLUTION NO. 2752
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING
THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH AN INVESTIGATIVE FUND PETTY
CASH ACCOUNT
WHEREAS it is necessary for the Investigative Division of the Police Department to
receive cash advances, and
WHEREAS the cash advances are required for the Investigative Division to effectively
and efficiently carry out their assigned duties, and
WHEREAS cash advances are sometimes required outside the normal work week
observed by the Finance Department, NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II: The Finance Director may establish an Investigative Fund Petty Cash
Account in the sum of $5,000 to be used exclusively for payment of.-
a.
f:a. Confidential investigative expenses for the purchase of services including but
not limited to: travel or transportation, the lease of an apartment, business front, automobile,
boat, aircraft or similar effects to establish the appearance of affluence, credibility and a
general atmosphere conducive to the undercover role. Meals, beverages, entertainment, and
similar expenses for undercover purposes, within reasonable limits, would also be included.
b. The purchase of evidence and/or contraband required to determine the
existence of a crime or to establish the identity of a participant in a crime.
c. The purchase of specific information from informants.
d. Similar necessary expenditures for investigative purposes.
