RESOLUTION NO. 2762
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH SOOS CREEK WATER AND
SEWER DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, certain property within the city limits of the City of
Renton, Washington, located on S. 55th Street between 99th Place
South and Talbot Road South have experienced low water -pressure; and
WHEREAS, the owners of the property known as the Casal Short
Plat (No. 059-85) have requested water service; and
WHEREAS, that short plat lies over 1,400 feet from the city's
existing 16" low pressure main on Talbot Road South; and
WHEREAS, the Soos Creek Water and Sewer District has lines
across the street from the short plat property and can .provide water
with adequate pressure; and
WHEREAS, the Renton City Council finds it in the public
interest to provide adequate water pressure to the short plat,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: The above recitals are hereby found to be true and
correct.
SECTION II: The Mayor, or his designee, and the City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to sign the Interim Interlocal
Service Agreement to provide water service to the Casal Short Plat.

Interim Interlocal Service Agreement

Mr. Armstrong and Mr. Ruth request water service to their Short Plat known as Casal
Short Plat No. 059-85, which property is situated on S. 192nd Street between 99th Pl. So.
and Talbot Rd. So.
BACKGROUND-
The subject property, which now includes both lots 1 and 2 of Short Plat #059-85 lie
within the City of Renton and over 1,400 feet from the City's existing 16" low pressure
water main in Talbot Road So. P e
The owners of the subject property seek adequate water service to their property. Since
the City of Renton cannot provide
water
service
with th ade
quate water pressure to
thepropertYat time, the owners appealed to the Soos Creek Water and Sewer District,whodo have water lines across the street
from said subject property.
The City of Renton and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District are presently negotiating
interlocal service agreements for provision of water service areas along their common
boundaries.
Until such time as an interlocal service agreement, including King County Boundary
Review Board approval, has been executed, the owners request the City and the District
enter into an interim service agreement for.the specific property.
This interim agreement will grant the Soos Creek Water and Sewer District permission to
Provide water service to Lots 1 and 2 of Short Plat #059-85, recorded under King County
AF #8811179001.
ACTION PLAN:
An interim interlocal Service Agreement was prepared by Soos Creek Water and Sewer
District on March 15, 1989.

We seek Council approval for the City to enter into the interim agreement with Soos
Creek Water and Sewer District, allowing water service to be provided to said property by
the District to the standards of the City of Renton, and by such other departments as have
appropriate jurisdiction thereof, and according to the ordinance and development
standards of the City of Renton.
Approval of the inclusion of Lot 2 of the Short Plat has been given by the City and by
the District per their April 10, 1989 letter.
RECOMMENDATir7N
The Public Works Department recommends that the City Council approve the agreement,
and adopt a resolution authorizing City officials to execute the agreement.
