CITY OF RENTON
RESOLUTION NO . 2257
A Resolution providing the State Department
of Transportation with ,an expression of public
concern relative to the adequacy of SR 900 to
meet the demands of present and future traffic.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: That the design and configuration of SR 900
between the cities of Renton and Issaquah is insufficient to
. meet the present and/or reasonably anticipated future traffic
demands on such roadway in view of the rapidly increasing
development in surrounding areas .
SECTION II: Because of the public need described in
Section 1, which is commonoto the cities of both Renton and
Issaquah, and because of the long lead time required for such
improvements, this Council hereby urges that the State Department
of Transportation give high priority to the planning, funding
and construction of improvements to SR 900 between Renton and
Issaquah, including, if possible, straightening, widening to
four lanes , and other related improvements .
SECTION III: That the City Clerk is hereby directed to
provide the State Department of Transportation with a certified
copy of this Resolution.
