HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 2159 CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON RESOLUTION NO. 2159 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT AND IMPROVE CERTAIN STREETS INCLUDING GRADING, DRAINING, TOGETHER WITH CURBS , GUTTERS , SIDEWALKS , STREET LIGHTS AND UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ON PORTION OF LIND AVENUE S .W. LYING BETWEEN S . W. 16TH STREET AND S .W. 43RD STREET, S .W. 34TH STREET AND S .W. 41ST STREET LYING BETWEEN LIND AVENUE S .W. AND EAST VALLEY ROAD AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN: AND TO CREATE A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO ASSESS THE COST AND EXPENSE OF SAID IMPROVEMENT • AGAINST THE PROPERTIES IN SUCH DISTRICT SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY; NOTIFYING ALL PERSONS WHO MAY DESIRE TO OBJECT TO SAID IMPROVEMENT TO APPEAR AND PRESENT THEIR OBJECTIONS AT A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO BE HELD ON MARCH 6 , 1978; AND CREATING LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 302 . BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, to construct and install the following street improvements in the following described area of the City, to-wit: 1. (a) Description of Local Improvement District No. 302 : EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED 2 . (b) Improvements : (1) A 100 ft. strip of land to be known as Lind Avenue S .W. lying between S .W. 16th St. and S . W. 43rd St. (2) An 80 ft. strip of land to be known as S .W. 34th St. lying between Lind Ave . S .W. and the East Valley Highway. ( 3) An 80 ft. strip of land to be known as S .W. 41st St. lying between Lind Ave . S .W. and the East Valley Highway. The improvements consist of clearing, grubbing, grading, draining, ballasting and paving, including the installation of curbs , gutters , sidewalks , street lighting, underground utilities , signalization and all necessary appurtenances thereto. - 1 - • ♦_ There shall be included all necessary equipment, supplies and appurenances and the acquisition of any easements or rights--of- way that may be. required. The City Council may, in its discretion, modify and amend the details off the foregoing described improvement, including, the financing thereof, wherein its judgment it appears advisable, provided such modifications and amendments do not substantially alter the general plan of said improvement project, All of the foregoing shall be in accordance withthe plans and specifications therefor to be. prepared by. the. Director of Public Works of the City of .Renton. SECTION .II The entire cost and expense of said improvement unless hereafter timely modified or amended by .the City Council, shall be borneby and assessed against the property specially benefited by such improvement to be included in the local improvement district to be established, embracing as near as may be all property specially benefited by such improvement, There shall be included in the cost and expense of said improvementsall cost items specified in RCW 35 .44. 020 . SECTION III: That all persons who may desire to object to the improvement herein described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a meeting of the City Council to beheld in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Renton, Washington at 8 ; 00 P.M. on March 6 , 1978 which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters relating tosaid proposed im- provement and all objections thereto and for determining the method of payment for said improvement. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing and said proposed improvement as required by law. Hillman's Earlington Gardens Addition Division No. 1 as recorded in Volume 17 of Plats, Page 74 records of King County Washington, with the southerly Right-of-Way margin of S.W. 16th St. ; Thence southerly along the west line of said Block 24, to an intersection with the north Right-of-way margin of S.W. 19th St (S. 156th Street) ; Thence westerly along the north Right-of-Way margin of said S.W. 19th Street to an intersection with the west line of said Section 19; Thence southerly along the west line of Section 19 to the southwest corner thereof, said southwest corner also being the northwest corner of Section 30; Thence southerly along the west line of said section 30 to the southwest corner thereof, said southwest corner also being the northwest corner of Section 31 ; Thence southerly along the west line of said section 31 to an intersection with the northerly Right-of-Way margin of S.W. 43rd Street (S. 180th Street) ; Thence easterly along the northerly Right-of-Way margin to said S.W. 43rd Street, extended easterly, to an intersection with the westerly Right-of-Way margin of the East Valley Highway (Primary State Highway No. 5) ; Thence northerly along the westerly Right-of-Way margin of said East Valley Highway to center of Section 30, Twp. 23 N. , Rng. 5 E. , W.M. ; Thence westerly along the east-west centerline of said Section 30 to the SE corner of the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 30; Thence northerly along the easterly line of said subdivision to the NE corner thereof, said NE corner also being on the south line of the N 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 30; Thence easterly along the south line of said subdivision to an intersection with the westerly Right-of-Way margin of the East Valley Highway (Primary State Highway No. 5) ; Thence northerly along the westerly Right-of-Way margin of said Highway to an intersection with the north line of said Section 30; Thence westerly along the north line of Section 30 to an intersection with the southerly production of the east line of Block 3, said plat of Hillmans Ea:rlIngton-Gardens Division. No. 1 ; Thence northerly along the east line of said Block '3 produced southerly and northerly to the SE corner of Block 4, said plat; Thence northerly along the east line of said Block 4, and its northerly production to the SE corner of Block 23, said plat; Thence continuing northerly along the east line of said Block 23 to an inter- section with the southerly Right-of-Way margin of SW 16th St. ; Thence westerly along the southerly Right-of-Way margin of SW 16th St. , extended across Lind Ave. S.W. to the NW corner of Block 24, said plat of C.
