CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
RESOLUTION NO. 2208
WHEREAS by Resolution No. 2933 adopted April 6 , 1978 , the
Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) has adopted Rules and
Regulations for the disposal of sewage into the Metropolitan sewage
system, including procedures - to insure consistency between proposed
'connections and-exterisiors of the Metropolitan Sewage System and adopted
Land Use Plans and Policies of local governments , and as a part of
itsarea-wide area wide water qualification plan for the Cedar-Green River
Basins under Section 208 of PL 92-500; and
WHEREAS pursuant to 'such rules , a request for extension or
connection may be ' considered by Metro only upon receipt of written
Certification that such connection or extension is consistent with the
adopted Land Use Plans and Policiesof local governments having, jurisdiction
over any portion of the area proposed to be served, or any other area
in and through which the facility is proposed to be constructed, and
"
WHEREAS such Certification on behalf of the local government
may be made by the legislative body or such other Department as the
legislative body may designate; and
WHEREAS review of all such projects by the City of Renton
and its Departments includes consideration of Land Use and zoning
impact prior to approval; and
WHEREAS it would promote efficiency of consideration and approval
of such projects for the Public Works Director to be authorized to execute
the Certification required by Metro Resolution 2933 on behalf of the City
of Renton; NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The above recitals are found to be true and
correct.
SECTION II : The Public Works Director is authorized to execute
Certificates required by Metro Resolution No. 2933 on behalf of the
City of Renton.
