RESOLUTION NO . 2215
(VAC 6-78)
WHEREAS a Petition has been filed with the City Clerk
of the City of Renton on or about July 6 , 1978 , pursuant to
the requirements of RCW 35. 79, petitioning for the vacation
of a portion of a certain street, as hereinafter more particularly
described, and said petition having been signed by the owners
of more than two-thirds of the property abutting upon a portion
of said street sought to be vacated, and same being described
as follows :
The north 30 feet of N.E. 14th Street, lying southerly
of and adjacent to the South line of Lot 210 , C. D.
Hillman' s Lake Washington Garden of Eden Division No. 4
as recorded inVolume 11 of Plats , page 82 , records of
King County, Washington; easterly of the southerly
extension of the Westerly line of said Lot 210 and
westerly of the westerly right-of-way line of Edmonds
Avenue N.E. extended ;
Together with the south 30 feet of the west 130 feet of
N.E. 14th Street, lying northerly- of and adjacent to the
north line of Lot 211, said plat ; easterly of the northern
extension of the westerly line of said Lot 211 and
westerly of the northerly extension of the easterly line
of the west 130 feet of said Lot 211 ;
Also that portion of undesignated right-of-way, being
the west 30 feet of the north 1/2 of Lot 211, said
plat , except the north 30 feet thereof.
As situated within the S.E. 1/4 of Section 5 , Township
23 North, Range East, W.M.
and
WHEREAS the City Council having previously held .a public
hearing on or about August 21 , 1978 , and said hearing to be
reconsidered, NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : That the 16th day of October. •, 1978at
the hour of 8 : 00 P.M. at the' City Council Chambers in. the 'Municipal
Building, Renton, King Count Washin ton,' be and is hereby
fixed as the time and place when the aforesaid Petition for

vacating the aforesaid portion of street shall be heard and
determined, which said hearing date is not morethan, sixty� nor
I
less than twenty days from the date 'of passage of this Resolution.
SECTION II : The City Clerk.'is hereby authorized and
directed to give notice of said time and ,hearing as provided
by RCW 35. 79. 020 and any and/or all persons interested therein
or objecting to said vacation may then appear and be heard
thereon, or they may file their written objections thereto with
the City Clerk at or prior to the time of hearing on said vacation.
SECTION III : The City Council shall determine, as
provided for in RCW 35 .79 . 030 as to whether an appraisal shall
be secured to determine the fair market value of the property
sought to be vacated as provided for in Ordinance No. 2349 and
the amount of compensation to be paid by the Petitioner-Owners
to the City for such vacation but which said amount shall not
exceed one-half of the appraised value of the area to be vacated.

The City likewise reserves the right' to retain an

easement for public utility and related purposes .
