ORDINANCE N0. 4380
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 2-8-1 OF CAAPTER 8, MUNICIPAL ARTS COI+�II�IISSION, OF
TI`rLE II (COMMISSIONS AND BOARDS) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260
ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
RENTON, WASHINGTON" RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP RESIDENCY.
SECTION I. Section 2-8-1 of Chapter 8, Municipal Arts
Commission, of Title II (Commissions and Boards) , of Ordinance No.
4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,
Washington" is hereby amended to read as follows :
2-8-1: CREATION: There is hereby created a Municipal Arts
Commission to be hereafter known as the Renton Municipal Arts
Commission which shall act in an advisory capacity to the City
government of the City in connection with the artistic and cultural
development of the City. Such Commission shall consist of twelve
( 12 ) members .appointed by the Mayor and subject. to confirmation by
a majority of the members of the City Council. Of those twelve
( 12 ) members, at least four (4) shall be residents of the City.
The membership on the Commission shall, whenever possible, include
members from a variety of art fields and related professions . The
Mayor and City Council may solicit suggested nominations for such
appointments from architectural, art, musical, literary,
educational and other cultural organizations .
SECTION II. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
� passage, approval, and thirty days after its publication.
