1. REFER TO SHEET C1.03 FOR ADDITIONAL CITY OF RENTON EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION
CONTROL NOTES AND REQUIREMENTS.
2. TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE IN PLACE AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY OF RENTON PRIOR TO LAND CLEARING AND ALL OTHER CONSTRUCTION TO ENSURE
THAT SILT -LADEN WATER DOES NOT ENTER THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM.
D 3. AS CONSTRUCTION PROGRESSES AND SEASONAL CONDITIONS DICTATE, THE TEMPORARY
EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL FACILITIES SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND/OR
ALTERED AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE CONTINUING EROSION AND SEDIIrIENTAT10tJ CONTROL.
4. THE TEMPORARY EROSION SEDIMENTATION CONTROL FACILITIES SHOWN ARE INTENDED TO
BE MINI11Uwl REQUIREMENTS. ADDITIONAL FACILITIES SHALL BE INSTALLED AS
NECESSARY AND MAINTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
TO PREVENT DOWNSTREAM EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION.
5. THE IMPLEMENTATION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT AND ADDITIONS TO THE TEMPORARY
EROSION SEDIMENTATION CONTROL FACILITIES SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
CONTRACTOR. ANY DOWNSTREAM DAMAGE DUE TO THE FAILURE BY THE CONTRACTOR TO
FULFILL THESE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE THE CONTRACTORS LIABILITY.
6. THE CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION AND EXCAVATION SHALL CONFORM TO THE APPLICABLE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF RENTON FOR SEDIMENT CONTROL. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL CONFORM TO ALL CITY, COUNTY, STATE, AND FEDERAL ORDINANCES GOVERNING AIR
POLLUTION CONTROL.
7. THE TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE MAINTAINED IN A SATISFACTORY
CONDITION UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE AND THE OWNERS
REPRESENTATIVE HAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO REMOVE THE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES.

SITE DEMOLITION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE, ERECT AND MAINTAIN ALL TEMPORARY BARRIERS
AND SECURITY DEVICES AS NECESSARY FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ADJACENT PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAYS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED CITY OF RENTON DEMOLITION PERMITS
BEFORE COMMENCING DEMOLITION.
3. SITE DEMOLITION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE CONDITIONS OF
THE PROJECTS DEMOLITION PERMIT.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE REMOVAL, ABANDONMENT AN/OR CAPPING
OF EXISTING UTILITIES WITH THE APPLICABLE UTILITY AGENCY, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO:
A. EXISTING WATER CONNECTIONS (CITY OF RENTON).
B. EXISTING NATURAL GAS CONNECTIONS (PUGET SOLID ENERGY).
C. EXISTING TELEPHONE CONNECTIONS (QWEST AND/OR AT&T).
D. EXISTING STORM DRAINAGE AND SANITARY SIDE SEWERS (CITY OF RENTON).
E. EXISTING POWER CONNECTIONS (PUGET SOUND ENERGY).
5. EXCAVATION FOR REMOVAL OF FOUNDATIONS, SLABS ON GRADE AND UTILITIES SHALL
BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECTS GEOTIECHNICAL ENIGINEERING REPORT BY
SOIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENTAL EMGI KERS INC. DATED 04/20/15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
COMPLY WITH THE REPORT RECOMMIERUTi ONS FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION SLOPES
AND SHALL NOT EXCEED THOSE SLOPES WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE GEOTECHNICAL
ENGINEER.
6. CAP OR PLUG UTILITY SERVICES AT THE LIMITS OF EXCAVATION OR AT THE LIMITS
OF DEMOLITION, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT ALL TELEPHONE AND COMMUNICATIONS WIRES AND
CONDUCTORS HAVE BE DECOMMISSIONED PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND
TELEPHONE DUCTBANK CONDUITS AND VAULTS.
8. CLEAR AND GRUB ALL LANDSCAPED AND NON -PAVED AREAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF
WORK.
9. DEMOLITION ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRICAL LINES AND APPURTENANCES SHALL
BE COORDINATED WITH THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS. DEMOLITION FOR SPECIFIC
ELECTRICAL ITEM INDICATED ON THE DEMOLITION PLANS SHALL NOT BE CARRIED
OUT UNTIL POWER SOURCES TO THE ITEMS INDICATED FOR REMOVAL HAVE BEEN
MADE SAFE.
10. REMOVE EXISTING CONCRETE WALK TO FULL DEPTH.
11. REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVEMENT TO FULL DEPTH.
12. PROTECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES AND FOUNDATIONS TO REMAIN WITHIN THE
LIMITS OF WORK DING CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SHORING
AS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO NOT IMPACT EXISTING STRUCTURES, LANDSCAPING
AND FOUNDATIONS.
13. PROTECT ALL EXISTING UTILITIES INDICATED TO REMAIN FROM DAMAGE AT ALL
TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY SHORING
AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE ADEQUATE PROTECTION OF UTILITIES TO REMAIN AND
THEIR APPURTENANCES. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS
PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF DEMOLITION OPERATIONS AN NOTIFY THE ENGINEER
OF ANY DISCREPANCIES.
14. SEE LANDSCAPE DRAWINGS FOR TREE PROTECTION. INSTALL ALL TREE
PROTECTION PRIOR TO STARTING ANY OTHER WORK.
STORM DRAIN NOTES
1. REFER TO SHEET C1.03 FOR ADDITIONAL CITY OF RENTON SURFACE WATER NOTES AN
REQUIREMENTS.
2. INSTALL CATCH BASIN INSERTS UNDER ALL CATCH BASIN AN AREA DRAIN GRATES
IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALLATION. SEE TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION
CONTROL NOTES.
3. TOP ELEVATION FOR ALL CATCH BASINS WITH SOLID COVER SHALL MATCH FINISH
GRADE.
4. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, THE CONTRACTOR MAY USE ANY COMBINATION OF
PREFABRICATED FITTINGS (TEES, BENDS AND WYES) AT LOCATIONS WHERE STORM
CONNECTION POINTS OF INTERSECTION (PI) ARE INDICATED. PREFABRICATED
FITTINGS MAY BE ADXSTED AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN POSITIVE SLOPE AND

CENTER. PAVEMENT PANEL LENGTH TO WIDTH RATIO SHALL NOT EXCEED 1.25. AT THE CONTRACTOR'S OPTION,
THE CONTRACTOR MAY SUBSTITUTE CONSTRUCTION JOINTS FOR CONTROL JOINTS. ALL JOINTS SHALL BE

SITE DEMOLITION NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE, ERECT AND MAINTAIN ALL TEMPORARY BARRIERS
AND SECURITY DEVICES AS NECESSARY FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE ADJACENT PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENTS WITHIN THE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAYS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED CITY OF RENTON DEMOLITION PERMITS
BEFORE COMMENCING DEMOLITION.
3. SITE DEMOLITION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE CONDITIONS OF
THE PROJECTS DEMOLITION PERMIT.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE THE REMOVAL, ABANDONMENT AN/OR CAPPING
OF EXISTING UTILITIES WITH THE APPLICABLE UTILITY AGENCY, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO:
A. EXISTING WATER CONNECTIONS (CITY OF RENTON).
B. EXISTING NATURAL GAS CONNECTIONS (PUGET SOLID ENERGY).
C. EXISTING TELEPHONE CONNECTIONS (QWEST AND/OR AT&T).
D. EXISTING STORM DRAINAGE AND SANITARY SIDE SEWERS (CITY OF RENTON).
E. EXISTING POWER CONNECTIONS (PUGET SOUND ENERGY).
5. EXCAVATION FOR REMOVAL OF FOUNDATIONS, SLABS ON GRADE AND UTILITIES SHALL
BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROJECTS GEOTIECHNICAL ENIGINEERING REPORT BY
SOIL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENTAL EMGI KERS INC. DATED 04/20/15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
COMPLY WITH THE REPORT RECOMMIERUTi ONS FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION SLOPES
AND SHALL NOT EXCEED THOSE SLOPES WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE GEOTECHNICAL
ENGINEER.
6. CAP OR PLUG UTILITY SERVICES AT THE LIMITS OF EXCAVATION OR AT THE LIMITS
OF DEMOLITION, UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT ALL TELEPHONE AND COMMUNICATIONS WIRES AND
CONDUCTORS HAVE BE DECOMMISSIONED PRIOR TO REMOVAL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND
TELEPHONE DUCTBANK CONDUITS AND VAULTS.
8. CLEAR AND GRUB ALL LANDSCAPED AND NON -PAVED AREAS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF
WORK.
9. DEMOLITION ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRICAL LINES AND APPURTENANCES SHALL
BE COORDINATED WITH THE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS. DEMOLITION FOR SPECIFIC
ELECTRICAL ITEM INDICATED ON THE DEMOLITION PLANS SHALL NOT BE CARRIED
OUT UNTIL POWER SOURCES TO THE ITEMS INDICATED FOR REMOVAL HAVE BEEN
MADE SAFE.
10. REMOVE EXISTING CONCRETE WALK TO FULL DEPTH.
11. REMOVE EXISTING ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVEMENT TO FULL DEPTH.
12. PROTECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES AND FOUNDATIONS TO REMAIN WITHIN THE
LIMITS OF WORK DING CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SHORING
AS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO NOT IMPACT EXISTING STRUCTURES, LANDSCAPING
AND FOUNDATIONS.
13. PROTECT ALL EXISTING UTILITIES INDICATED TO REMAIN FROM DAMAGE AT ALL
TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY SHORING
AS REQUIRED TO ENSURE ADEQUATE PROTECTION OF UTILITIES TO REMAIN AND
THEIR APPURTENANCES. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS
PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF DEMOLITION OPERATIONS AN NOTIFY THE ENGINEER
OF ANY DISCREPANCIES.
