WHEREAS plans are presently underway, after many consultations,
meetings and endeavors between the City of Renton and various interested
citizens groups and the Burlington-Northern Railroad toward the removal
of railroad tracks on Burnett Avenue South and other areas; and
WHEREAS Such removal will contribute greatly to remove blight
from the downtown core area; and
41HEREAS it is also vital and important to likewise cause to have
removed the electrification system owned 3nd �ontr�lled by the
Milwaukee Road along and on Houser Way South, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR ANll THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON as follows :
SECTION I : The City of Renton hereby goes on recor•d to fully
support the removal of the elect��ification system along the Milwaukee
Road tracks on or about Houser Way South within the City of Renton,
King County, Washington . A copy of this resolution shall be forwarded
lerk with the ur ent re uest to take a�l.

necessary and timely steps to provide for the removal of the presently
existing unsightly electrification system along the aforedesignated
street .
