WHEREAS, THE I,EAGUE OF WOMEN VO'TERS is now celebrating its
50th Anniversary and ever since its founding said organization has steadfastly
adhered to and pursued its goals of maintaining a non-partisan body dedicated to
political education and enlightenment of our citizenry in order to make a more
democratic society inthe United States of America .
AND WHEREAS, the League, over the years , has established an
, untarnished reputation as a persietent searcher for facts and truth providing a
non-partisan platform to millions of our citizens in order to enable them to make
a more knowledgeable choice inthe election and rejection of candidates,pin-
pointing critical issues of our times and ever changing society and seeking
reforms in all fields of human endeavo�and natural resources , NOW THEREFORE,
'I BE IT RE�OI.VED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, AS FOZLOWS:
SECTION I: The City of Renton, a municipal corporation, hereby
extends its greetings and admiration to the League of Women Voter s for its
unselfish achievement�and enlightened campaigns over the last half century
and urges that organization to continue its commendable efforts in the future.
SECTION II: A copy of this Resolution be submitted to the I,ocal
and State Presidents of the League of Women Voter by the CityClerk
