In Ground Installation
- Place bench where you want to install
and mark the ground.
Dig 116" diameter x 18" depth hole for
each leg. (hole may very depending on soil.)
- Place bench in the hole and
level front and back.
- Bench seat must be between 17"
and 19" in height.
- Mix 2 - 60 Ib bags of concrete per hole
(concrete is provided by others).
- Make sure bench is level front to back
as the concrete is poured into holes.
Assembly
- No Assembly necessary - the bench is welded together.
Material:
Steel 11/2 "' x V2" slats, 2 3/8" tube is used
for seat/back support. legs and arms
All steel is welded together and powder
coated to 3 mil.
Options:
Mounting: Surface mount or in -ground
Length: 4' or 6' standard, custom lengths available
Frame: Standard color is green, others are available
Surface Mount Installation
- Place bench on cement surface and
mark cement through all the holes
in the mounting plates.
- Remove the bench and drill all previously
marked spots with a 5/8" concrete drill bit.
- Place bench back on the marks/holes
and tighten down the anchor bolts
- Bench seat is ADA (height is 17" - 19")
- (anchor bolts and tools are provided by others)

CONCEPTUAL NOTES ON SANDBLASTING AND INTERPRETIVE SIGN:
SANDBLASTING WILL CONSIST OF 4" OR 5" TALL LETTERS WITH PLANT NAMES LISTED FOR
EACH AREA OF WETLAND: FORESTED UPLAND, FORESTED WETLAND AND RIPARIAN
WETLAND. A MINIMUM OF THREE PLANT NAMES WILL BE LISTED FOR EACH AREA, NINE
TOTAL MINIMUM. DEPTH OF LETTERS IS APPROXIMATELY 3/16". IF POSSIBLE, NAMES WILL
FOLLOW CURVE OF DIVIDING LINES BETWEEN AREAS OF CONCRETE IN GATHERING SPACE.
SANDBLASTING WILL BE ETCHED INTO COLOR CONCRETE TO CREATE LETTERS. SEAL
COLORED CONCRETE AND SANDBLASTED LETTERS WITH MATTE FINISH CONCRETE
SEALER. COORDINATE WITH OWNER, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT, GENERAL CONTRACTOR
AND WETLAND BIOLOGIST. CONTACT COLBECK AND COMPANY 206-781-2200 OR OTHER
APPROVED SANDBLASTER. CITY OF RENTON PLANNER WILL NEED TO APPROVE OF
DETAILED PLAN PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
INTERPRETIVE SIGN WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 30"x42" AND WILL BE ON A WOOD OR METAL
FRAME AND POST. SEE PLAN SHEET L1.3 FOR LOCATION. SIGN WILL LIST PLANTS
ASSOCIATED WITH EACH AREA OF THE WETLAND, AS WELL AS FUNCTION AND BENEFITS OF
WETLAND AREAS. COLOR PHOTOS OF THE PLANTS WILL ALSO BE PART OF THE SIGN.
CITY OF RENTON PLANNER WILL NEED TO APPROVE OF DETAILED DESIGN PRIOR TO
INSTALLATION

TREE PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION
1. 6 FEET HIGH TEMPORARY CHAINLINK FENCE. FOR CLUSTERS
OF TREES FENCE TO MAKE CONTINUOUS LINE. INSTALL
CHAINLINK FENCE POSTS USING PIER BLOCKS ONLY. AVOID
DRIVING POSTS OR STAKES INTO MAJOR ROOTS. "TREE
PROTECTED AREA" SIGNS SHALL BE PLACED ON ALL SIDES OF
FENCED AREAS. DO NOT EXTEND PROTECTION MEASURES TO
OFF SITE PROPERTIES.
2. TREATMENT OF ROOTS EXPOSED DURING CONSTRUCTION:
FOR ROOTS OVER 1" IN DIAMETER DAMAGED DURING
CONSTRUCTION, MAKE A CLEAN, STRAIGHT CUT TO
REMOVE DAMAGED PORTION OF ROOT. ALL EXPOSED
ROOTS SHALL BE TEMPORARILY COVERED W/ DAMP
BURLAP TO PREVENT DRYING, AND COVERED WITH SOIL
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
3. WORK WITHIN PROTECTION FENCE SHALL BE DONE MANUALLY.
NO CHANGE OF GRADE SHALL BE MADE WITHIN PROTECTION
AREA. NO STOCKPILING OF MATERIALS OR STORAGE OF
EQUIPMENT OR MACHINERY SHALL BE ALLOWED WITHIN THE
LIMIT OF THE FENCING.
