The area of porous asphalt was 0.98 ac which was modeled as 50 percent grass and 50 percent impervious in our original calculations, to size the detention facility. The calculation and methodology used to size the detention facility was Level III Flow Control criteria using the porous pavement as 50 percent grass. The new calculation has been performed with no credit for the porous pavement and the detention pond is sized using Level III Flow Control. The original calculation showed that the detention volume required for the project is 149,018 cf. The new calculation determines that the volume required with no flow control BMP is 161,839 cf. The volume provided in the pond is 172,013 cf. Please refer to the following pages for the new and original sizing calculations. The total excess storage in the detention pond is 172,013 cubic feet— 149,018 cubic feet= 22,995 cubic feet. This compensating storage is more than enough.
