BE iT �?$DAINEII BY THE MAYOR AND THE CIZ`Y C:OUIdCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS

SECTION; I: Existing Sectian 10-705 of Title X <Traffic) of�Ordinance No. 1628
entitled "CODE OF GENB�,AL ORDZNAI�CES OF THE CITY OF REN'I�ON" is hereby amended to
read as follows:
SECTLON 10.705 A3 AMENDED: LEGAL PARKING: G7t�enever any vehicle shall be parked
within the area designated aa a parking space or next to a parking meter� on any
day beCween the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. except on the following designated
holidays:
3anuary lst ENew Yeas's Day) July 4th CIndepeadence Day)
February 12th (Lincoln's Birthday) I.abar Day
Februacy 22nd (GJashington•s sirthday) Oct�ber 22th (Columbus Day)

Said parking space may then be used by such vehicle during the legal parking
limit provided by the laws of the Gity and as posted at or near the park'sng space
so grovided. and said vehicle shall be consi.dered a� unlawfully parked i€ it remains
at aaid space beyond the legal parking licnit aad/flr when said parking meter displays
a signal showing such illegal parking.
It shall be uniawful for any person to cause �r permit any vehiale registered
in his nane tfl be ualawfully parked as set out in this section.
Any person charged wzth an offense under this Section may post bail. with the
Traffic Violations Bureau of the Police Gourt of the City of ttenton in t�e sum o£
- 'I�wo Dollars ($2.00) if so posted within seven (7) days £rom the date of such notice
or in the sum of Five DoZlars (�5.+�0) if so posted a�fter the seventh day and befflre
the thirtieth day from the date of such notice and such baii may .then. be forfeited
or trial may be requested as authorized by Iaw.
Any person who neglects to answer to the charges set forth ia such r►otice flr
ta post bail theref�r as hereinabove provided shail be guilty of a violation of this 'I
' Section regardless fl€ the charges for which the notice was originally issued and
shall upon canviction thereof be fined in a sum nflt exceeding One Hundred Dollars($100)

No person sha2i stop, stand, park or angle park a vehicle, excep� when necessary
to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direetions of a peace
officer or traffic control devi�e, within ten feet of any fire hydrant or to in any
saay park� block or interfere with access to such fire h,ydrant. Any person who violates
the provisions of this paragraph shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, be fined in a sum of not less than Five Dollars ($5,00) nor more than Twenty-
Five Dollars ($25.00) .
SECTION II: Any and all other 0 rdinances or parts of 0 rdinances in �onflict here-
c�aith are hereby repealed.
SECTTON IIIs This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and Ieg�l pubiication.
