SEGTIORs Z: Bxisting Section 10-111 of Tit2e X (Traff ic Code), Subaection (A)�
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton'• is I
hereby ameaded to read as fol2ows: ,
Section 10-211 Subsection (A): Pedestriana Subject to Traffic-Control ',
Signa2s. Pedestrians shall be sabject to traffic-eontrol signa2s as I
declared in RCW 46.60.240 and 46.60.250, but at all other places ped-
estrians shall be granted those rights and be subject to the xestrictions
stated in this Section.
Permits for parades, processions or assemblies. Tt shall be
unlawful to condact a parade, procession or assembly,with the exception
of funeral processions. uQon any street andfor sidewalk in the City of
Renton without f irst notifying the Chief of Pol ice and obta ining a
permit therefor from said Chief of Police. Such notification shall
be made in writing to the Chisf of Police and shall state the purpose
of the parade, procession or assembly, the place and time of formation,
t�e proposed route of sttch parade, procession er assembly, the approximate
duration thereof and the names and addresses af the persons having charge
or control of such parade, procession or assembiy. Such notif ication
sha12 be delivered to the Chief of Police at le�st 48 hours Qrior to
such parade, procession or assembly is to take place; PROVIDED Hat�EVER
that this time limitation may be lessened or the notice entirely waived
in the discretion of the Chief of Police for any unexpected occasion,
or in case of a parade fior visitors arriving in the City within le6s
than the abovedescribed period preceding the desired hour of parade;
and provided further that upon the issuance of such a permit for a
parade, procession or assembly, the Chief of Po2ice may direct such
modi.f ieations of the time, place, route of march� duration and manner �
of using the publie streets and/or sidewalks, and other details of
any such parade, procession ar assembly as traffic conditions may
re�uire, having due regard to periods and locatione of congested
vehicular traffic, size of streets, availability of sidewalks and
other public accommodations; furthermore, the Chief of Police
shall be authorized to erect or cause to be erecte8 sach signs,
posters or barriers as may reasonably be neeessary to regu2ate
such parade, processior� or assembly in relation to other vehicuiar
and pedestrian traffic so as to avoid any damage to property or
injury to persons. There shall be no fee charged for any such pe,rmit.
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its gassage, approval a nd legal publicatian, _ -
