clai.ms against the City or its officials� officers and
employees while acting in their offi.cial, goverement8l

(f) Attend, wheri requested to do so, officia2 meetings o£ �
any Board ar Gommission in connection with the propossd '
drafti.ng of any ordiaances, resolutions or contracts,
SECTION iII: C�&NSATION: The City Attorney and the A ssistant City Att�rn�f,
if eny� shall rece3.ve such salary and in such amounts as the City Council may, f�om
tiame to time, establish by Ordinance and as fixed by the City's anntaal budget, which
such payment shell constitute the base pay f or a12 legal aervices performed in connec'����
with or having to do with all City operations tn a governmentel, as distinguished fro� a
prepr iet�try capac ity; PROVIDED H(X,�EVER tha t such ba se sa la ry a s prov�d f or £n the I
City's annnal budget shall not include the f ollowing, to-wit;
(a) Repre�enting the City in any Superior or Supreme Court '
A etion nor the preparation there of, including appeals thereto. II
(b) Legal services rendered in negoti.ating and acquirfng I,
property for the City of Renton, whether by condemaation '�
or otherwise, the obtaining of easements, right-of-ways,
or time spent on general obligation or revenue bond '
iesues.
(c) Legal aervices in the preparation of Resolu+:ions�
ordinances� or like services in connection t-ith
the establishment of any Locs2 Improvemeat District.
It is further contempl�ted that f rom time to time some matter, acti�n
or cause may come before the City requiring services over and a�ove the formal and
geaeral dttties af the City Attorney. Whenever such legal services as are enumerated
here inabove ere requested and required by the City Coancil, then same shall 2ikewise
be compensated for at the rate fixed €or such add itional duties, to-wit: at th� rate
now establiahed and as herea£ter amended by the Seattle-King Connty Bar Aseociation, �
or the rste �astablished by any other Bar Association having jurisdiction over attorneys
performing such legal services for a municipality. Whenever such additional servfcea
are required, ove r and above thoae covered by the base salary as set forth in the City•s
annual budget, such matters shall be reflected in the Minutes of the City Council
meeting and Lhe City Attorney shall keep a camplete and accurate �recard of such I
a�d�tional legal services rendered to the C ity and submit same to the City C2erk pri�r
to any such paya�ent. I
SECTION IVs In the event that services other than those outiined here inab�r� �
chould be required by the City of the City A ttorney, and such services be ing of an
