AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
APPROVING AND CONFIRMING THE ASSESSMENTS AND
ASSE55MENT ROLL OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NO. 263 , WHICH HA5 BEEN CREATED AND ESTABLISHED
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF A CERTAIN AREA WITHIN AND
WITHOUT THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, GENERALLY KNOWN AS THE KENNYDALE AREA,
BY THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN
SANITARY 5EWER LINES AND APPURTENANCES THERETO,
AS PROVIDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2506, AND LEVYING
' AND ASSESSING THE AMOUNT THEREOF AGAINST THE
5EVERAL LOTS, TRACTS, PARCELS OF LAND AND OTHER
PROPERTY 5HOWN ON SAID ROLL.
WHEREAS , the assessment roll levying the special assessments
against properties located in Local Improvement District No. 263 in
the City of Renton, Washington, created under Ordinance No. 2506 , has
been filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton, Washington, as
provided by law; and
VdHEREAS , notice of the time and place of hearing thereon
and of making objections and protests to said roll was duly published
at and for the time and in the manner provided by law, fixing the .
time and place of hearing thereon for the lst day of March, 1971, at
the hour of g o'clock �.m. (PST) , in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, Renton, Washington, and further notice thereof was duly
mailed by the City Clerk to each property owner shown on said roll;
and
WHEREAS , at the time and place fixed and designated in said
notice, said hearing on the assessment roll resulted in the following
protests and/or objections as received by the City Clerk prior, at and
during said hearing, to-wit :

and the City Council having duly considered said assessment roll and
the written protests and objections filed in connection therewith as
aforesaid, and the city council sitting and acting . as a Board of
Equalization for the purpose of considering the roll, the benefits to
be received by each lot, parcel and tract of land shown upon said roll,
including the increase and enhancement in the fair market value of
each such parcel of land by reason of said improvement, as revised
by the City Engineer. with the approval of the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . The assessments and assessment roll of Local
Improvement District No. 263, which has been created and established
for the purpose of improving a certain area located within and without
the City limits of the City of Renton, Washington, generally known as
the Kennydale Area, by the construction and installation of certain
sanitary sewer lines and appurtenances thereto, as provided by Ordinance
� No. 2506 , as the same now stand, be and the same are hereby in all
things and respects approved and confirmed for a total amount of
assessments and assessment roll of said Local Improvement District No.
263 of $ �79 1��, / �o 0

SECTION II . Each of the lots, tracts , parcels of land and
other property shown upon the said roll is hereby determined and
declared to be specially benefited by said improvement in at least the
amount charged against the same and the assessment appearing against
the same is in proportion to the several assessments appearing upon
said roll. There is hereby levied and assessed against each lot,

tract, parcel of land and other property appearing upon said roll the
amount finally charged against the same thereon.
SECTION III . The assessment roll as approved and confirmed
shall be filed with the Treasurer of the City of Renton for collection
and said City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to publish
notice as required by law stating that said roll is in her hands for .
collection and payment of any assessment thereon or any portion of
said assessment can be made at any time within thirty days from the
date of the first publication of said notice without penalty, interest
or cost, and that thereafter the sum remaining unpaid may be paid in
ten equal annual installments with interest thereon hereby fixed at
the rate of r,�'.S`� % per annum. The first installment of assessments
on said assessment roll shall become due and payable during the thirty-
day period succeeding the date one year after the date of first
publication by the City Treasurer of notice that the assessment roll
is in her hands for collection and annually thereafter each succeeding
installment sahll become due and payable in like manner. If the whole
or any portion of the assessments remains unpaid after the thirty-day
period, interest upon the whole unpaid sum shall be charged at the
rate of �.�� o per annum and each year thereafter .one of said
installments , together with interest due on the whole of the unpaid
balance, shall be collected. Any installment not paid prior to the
expiration of the said thirty-day period during which such installment
is due and payable shall thereupon become delinquent. All delinquent
installments shall be subject to a charge for interest at .�;�� % per
annum and for an additional charge of �.� % penalty levied upon both
principal and interest due upon such installment or installments . The
collection of such delinquent installments will be enforced in the
manner provided by law..
SECTION IV: Al1 of such assessments or installments thereof,
together with interest and penalty, if any thereon, when collected by
the City Treasurer, shall be paid into the "Local Improvement Fund,
District No. 263, " of the City of Renton, as created by Ordinance No.

2506 , and shall be used solely for the purpose of paying the principal
and interest on the warrants and bonds drawn upon or issued against
. said fund, or in case no bonds have been issued, then in payment of
any installment note or notes , in lieu of said bonds , as provided for
in RCW 35 .45 . 150 , as may be determined by the City Council of the City
of Renton.
SECTION V. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and legal _publication.
