WHEREAS it is necessary and in the public interest for the City to
purchase, as part of its comprehensive utility development plan, a certain reservoir
site located at the southeasterly corner of the intersection of Puget Drive And
S. E. 116th Street, consisting of 12.77 acres, and
WHEREAS the City has heretofore appropriated sufficient funds for the
acquisition thereof, said funds being derived from the 1965 water and sewer revenue
bond issue, and
WHEREAS the City has heretofore retained an appraiser to establish the
fair market value of said site and such appraisal having been duly completed, and
the City being ready and willing to purchase said site from its owners, to-wit:
Puget Western, Inc. , NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLOWS:
Section I: The above recitals and facts are hereby found to be true
and correct in all respects.
Section II : The Mayor, City Clerk and City Treasurer are hereby author-
ized and directed to sign and execute any and all necessary instruments for the
purchase of said reservoir site located as follows:
A. That certain site consisting of 12.77 acres located
at the southeasterly corner of the intersection of
Puget Drive and Southeast 116th St. , all located in
Renton, King County, Washington.
all as more particularly identified on the attached map, which is made a part
hereof as if fully set forth herein:
for the total purchase price of $53,650.00, same being the City's appraisal
therefor , and such payment to be made to Puget Western, Inc. , owners of the
aforesaid site; upon delivery unto the City of a Statutory Warranty Deed, free
and clear of all encumbrances, together with an appropriate policy of title
insurance in favor of the City of Renton in the aforespecified amount. Payment
therefor shall be made from the following described fund, to-wit:
1965 WATER AND SEWER CONSTRUCTION, 7151, Account 609, Capital Outlay
Section III : It is hereby found that the acquisition of said site is
necessary and required for the preservation of public health, sanitation, morals
and for the public benefit.
Section IV: Any and all Ordinances and Resolutions in conflict herewith,
particularly Resolution No. 1343, are hereby repealed.
