AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTOPJ, WASHINGTON; .
AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
AND PROPERTY RIGHTS BY EMIhTENT DOMAIN, PROVIDING
FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF: AUTHORIZING T�iE CITY
ATTORNEY TO PREPARE A PETITION FOR CONDEMNATION
IN THE SUPERIOR COURT IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF
KING AND THE PROSECUTION THEREOF FOR THE ACQUI-
SITION OF SUCH PROPERTY AND PROPERTY RIGHTS FOR
CONSTRUCTION IN RENTON, WASHINGTON OF A SENIOR
, CITIZENS CENTER, APPURTEPdANCES AND IMPROVEMENTS
IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE P�IAYOR AND THE CITY COUJ:dCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
� � SECTION I: it is acknowledged th�.t the acquisition of the
following described property rights is in accord with the goals
established by the Community Development Plan adopted the 22nd
. day of August, 1977 , (City R�solutian�� 2131 ) .
SECTION II: It is hereby determined that the acquisition of
the following described property and property rights is necessary
and for a public purpose and use - the construction of a Senior
Citizens Center, appurtenances and improvements in connection therewith, '
and that such property and property rights are l.ocated within the
corporate limits of the City of Renton, the same being described as
Parcels "C" and "D" on Exhibit� "A" and "B" attached hereto and thereby
made a part hereof.
(The principal parties holding interests of record in
Parcels "C" and "D" are the Burlington Northern, Inc. and the
known and unknown heirs of Henr Yesler.

and it is further acknowledged that the City is authorized by the
laws and statutes of the State o-f Washington to appropriate lands

and property rights , through the exercise of its right of eminent
domain within its corporate limits .necessary for the above-stated I
purpose . _,

SECTION III: The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed
to commence condemm�ation proceedings against the owners and all
` other parties in interest in the above--described lands and improvements ,
if any, as provided by law; to prepare the necessary petition for �
condemnation; and cotmnence and prosecute such action in the Superior
� Court in and for the County of King against a11 of the owners and
interested parties in the hereinabove described property; and to acquire
the aforedescribed property and property rights for the City of
Renton. Such proceedings shall be to ascertain the Just Compensation
for the appropriation of such property and property rights by the
Ci�y. of Renton.
SECTION IV: Compensation for the acquisition of ,said property

SECTION V: Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed as a

Compensation has beeri ascertained, and within the time aliowed by law.
