AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION
4-•716 OF TITLE I© (BUILDING REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE.NO. 1628
ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON".
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Existing Section 4-716 of Title IV (Building Regulations)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton"
reading as follows:
Section 4-716: PRIMARY STATE HIGRWAY RESTRICTIONS: All buildings;: and/or
uses of every type and description abutting or fronting
on a Primary State Highway within the City shall maintain a twenty foot
(201) setback from their lot lines, provided that such twenty foot (201)
setback need not be complied with in cases where more than sixty per cent
(60%) of existing buildings within such block have maintained less than
a twenty foot (201) setback; otherwise, the twenty foot (201) setback
shall be adhered to in all cases. (Ord. 1542; 4-.17•.56)
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Section 4-716: as amended: PRIMARY STATE HIGHWAY RESTRICTIONS:
structures
(a) All buildings,/and/or uses of every type and description abutting or
fronting on a Primary State Highway within the City shall maintain a
twenty foot (201) setback from their lot lines, provided that such
twenty foot (201) setback need not be complied with in cases where
more than sixty per cent (60%) of existing buildings within such
block have maintained less than a twenty foot (201) setback; other-
wise, the twenty foot (20') setback shall be adhered to in all cases.
(b) Setback Requirements on Certain City Streets: All buildings,
structures and/or uses of every type and description abutting upon
or fronting on the following designated streets within the City of
Renton shall maintain a fifty (50') foot setback requirement from
the centerline of the herein designated streets which shall apply
all construction and improvements hereinafter commenced, to -wit:
a) A fifty (50') foot setback from the centerline of the Bens
Highway extending from the south city limits to Grady Way
b) A fifty (50') foot setback from the centerline of 4th Aveni
North, also known as Southeast 128th Street, extending frot
the east city limits to "E" Street, and from Logan Street
to Houser Way.
PROVIDED, however that the aforespecified setback requirement need
structures and/or uses
not be complied with in cases where 60% or more of existing buildings,/
within such block have heretofore maintained less than said setback
requirement; otherwise the 50 foot setback shall be adhered to in all cases.
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication.
