AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 5-803
OF TITLE V (BUSINESS REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED 'CODE
OF GENERAL ORDINANCHS OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO HOUSE MOVERS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS
SECTION I: Existing Section 5-803 of Title V (Business Regulations) of
Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances,of the City of Renton" reading
as follows:
5-803 LIABILITY INSURANCE REQUIRED: Any �.pplicant for a "House
Droving Permit", in addition to the requirements contained hereinabove, shall
submit to the Clerk evidence of adequate liability and property damage insurance
coverage or such other security as %he Clerk may require, which insurance shall
adequately protect the City against any loss to property, or bodily injury or
other damages sustained or claimed by any person, or sustained or claimed by
the City, arising out of the granting or use of this permit or any acts or
omissions done or performed uabr or in connection with such house moving
activities.
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
5-803, as amended: LIABILITY INSURANCE AND BOND REQUIRED: Every person,:
firm or corporation, applying for a "house moving permit'. in addition to the requirements
contained hereinabove, shall submit to the City Clerk evidence of adequate liability
and property damage insurance coverage which shall not be less than $50,000.00 per
person and $100,000.00 per accident and not less than $10,000.00 for property damage,
which insurance coverage shall adequately protect the City against any loss to property
or bodily injury or other damages sustained or claimed by any person, or sustained or
claimed by the City, arising out of the granting or use of this permit or any acts or
omissions done or performed under or in connection with such house moving activities.
In addition to the foregoing insurance coverage, the applicant shall submit with his
application a cash bond with a lawful corporate surety to be approved by the City
Attorney in the amount of $2,000.00, conditioned upon his compliance with all the
provisions of this Chapter and agreeing to pay and holding the City harmless from any
claim which may be made a-ainst it by reason of the occupation of any street, alley,
sidewalk or othor public pl_ice by the struc-ur mo -ed, or by reason of any dam ye done
to the City's or other property or person.

SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval and legal publication.
