WHEREAS, the City Park Board is proceeding with a program of
improvement at Liberty Park, in the City, including installation of
new fencing and new soft -ball playing field, which improvements will
require removal of existing old wooden grandstand now on the field;
and
WHEREAS, the Park Board has received an offer from the Renton
Fish and Game Club proposing that the members of said Club dismantle
and remove said grandstand in return for the club receiving any sal-
vagable lumber therefrom for a price of one dollar, same to be used
in improving recreational facilities of the club and the public; and
the Park Board having recommended to the City Council acceptance of
said proposal as forwarding the recreational program of the City and
environs, and that the saving of expense to the City for otherwise
dismantling said grandstand constitutes adequate consideration and
serves the best interests of the City;
NOW THEREFORE, approving and acting upon said recommendation
of the park Board,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON:
SECTION 1: That the City accept the offer from Renton Fish
and Game Club to dismantle and remove from Liberty park the existing
old grandstand structure thereon, at the sole cost and expense of
said Club, and without expense or liability to the City, all timbers,
posts and lumber therein to be cleanly and completely removed from
said Liberty Park not later than March 6, 1950; in consideration for
which dismantling and removal services, and of the further sum of $1.00
to be paid by said Club to the City, said Renton Fish and Game Club
be and is sold and awarded title to all salvage materials (lumber,
timber and posts) contained in and salvaged from said grandstand
structure; all upon the understanding and agreement that any such
salvage materials be used by said Club for improvement of recreational
facilities, and not for personal or private uses of any person whom-
soever, and that dismantling be done in accordance with requirements
of the Park Board Supervisor. .
