A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON AUTHORIZING SUIT AND LEGAL
PROCEEDINGS FOR CONDEMNATION AND ACQUISITION BY THE CITY OF
PROPERTIES OF PUGET SOUNDPOWER & LIGHT COMPANY, A CORPORATION,
WHICH ARE NECESSARY.OR USEFUL IN THE OPERATION OF AN ELECTRIC
POWER SYSTEM OR IN THE PRODUCTION.. PURCHASE, SALE OR DISTRI-
BUTION OF ELECTRICITY, WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON; and AUTHOR-
IZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL LEGAL ASSISTANCE THEREIN.
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1382, the City Council of
Renton has cuased to be submitted to the voters of said City
a proposition authorizing the City of Renton to acquire by
purchase or condemnation all of the facilities and real and
personal property or interest therein now owned by the Puget
Sound Power & Light Company, a corporation, which are used or
useful for the distribution and sale of electricity and are
located within the City, or which are used or useful for the
production, transmission or supply of power to said distri-
bution system, or for the maintenance and.operation of said
electric power system, and the sale of electricity thereby;
now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS:
Sectionl: In event the requisite majority of voters
at the special election held upon aforesaid proposition this
17th day of October, 1950, vote in favor of said Proposition,
and if said Proposition shall carry by majority favorable vote
at said election, the mayor m d City Attorney be and are here-
by authorized and directed to institute or cause to be insti-
tuted and prosecuted, any and all suits, actions and legal
proceedings by, for and on behalf of the City of Renton against
the Puget Sound Power & Light Company,.a corporation and any
other proper parties for the condemnation, purchase and acqui-
sition by the City of any and all properties, facilities, fran-
chises, rights and interests of said Puget Sound Power & Light
Company, a corporation, the acquisition of which is authorized
by aforesaid Proposition submitted to the voters as aforesaid,
and by aforesaid Ordinance No. 1382 of the City of Renton, adopt-
ed and passed by the City Council on the7hday of September,
1950, and approved by the Mayor on that date, entitled "AN
ORDINANCE of the City of Renton, Washington specifying and
adopting a plan or scheme for the acquisition or construction
of an electric power system for the City, for the construction
and installation of additions and improvements to and exten-
sions of said system, declaring the estimated cost of carrying
out said plan or scheme, and providing for the submission of a
proposition for the adoption of said plan or scheme and the
issuance of electric power revenue bonds of the City in the
principal sum of $6,150,000.00 to pay the cost thereof to th%
qualified electors of the City for their ratification or re-
jection at a special election to be held on October 17, 1950,"
Section 2: The City Attorney be and is hereby author-
ized and empowered to employ the Law Firm of Preston, Thorgrimson
& Horowitz to furnish any required legal services for and on

behalf of the City of Renton in connection with any of the afore-
said suits, actions and legal proceedings,
