AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF RENTON.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945 Session
Laws of the State of Washington, a petition in writing requesting that
certain territory contiguous to the city limits of the City of Renton,
hereinafter more particularly described, be annexed to the City of Renton,
was presented and filed with the City Council on the 22nd day of June,
1954, bearing the signatures of the owners of more than seventy-five per
cent (75%) in value, to -wit: 95 per cent, (including certain lands known
as the King County Gravel Pit Area), according to the assessed valuation
for general taxation of the territory for which annexation is petitioned
therein;lwhich petition sets forth 8. legal description of the property
according to government legal subdivision or plats, and was accompanied
by plat or drawing outlining the boundaries of the territory petitioned
to be annexed; and the Planning Commission of the City of Renton having
heretofore considered and recommended the annexing of said property to
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton by resolution adopted
at its regular meeting on July 13, 1954s as modified subsequent thereto,
fixed Tuesday,October. 5, 1954, at 8 o'clock p.m. at the City Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Renton, Washington, as the time
and place for public hearing upon said petition, and a notice of said
hearing specifying the time and place thereof,_`inviting all interested
persons to appear thereat and voice approval or disapproval of or
objections to the proposed annexation, has been duly published as provided
by law, and true copies of said notice having been duly posted in three
public places within the territory proposed for annexation more than one
week prior to said date of hearing; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such resolution and notice a public hearing
on said petition has been held by the City Council of the City of Renton
on October 5, 1954, and said hearing having been continued to October 19,
1954, at 8 o'clock p.m. and no objections, written or oral, to the
proposed annexation having been filed or made at such original or continued

now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON AS FOLLOWS :
Section 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 128 of the 1945
Session Laws of the State of Vashington, it is determined that the above
mentioned petition for annexation to the City of Renton of the property
and territory hereinbelow described be and it is hereby approved and
grantedrt-.and the following described property, being contiguous to the
city limits of the City of Renton be and th�same is hereby annexed to the
City of Renton, effective on and after the 5th day of November, 1954, and
on and after that date said territory shall constitute a part of the City
of Renton and shall be subject to all the laws and ordinances of the City
of Renton then thereafter enforced; said property being described as follows:
Block 1 and 6, and lot 1, 2, 9, 10 and the south half of lot 3
and 8 of block 7 together with S.E. 125th Street (Bile Street)
between the east margin of 116th Avenue S.E. and east margin
of 119th Avenue S.E. (Renton Avenue); also 117th Avenue S.E.
(Lakeview Avenue) and 119th Avenue S.E. (Renton Avenue) between
the north margin of S.E. 128th Street (Pine Street) and the
north margin of S.E. 125th Street (Bile Street); also 120th
Avenue S.E. (Center Avenue) between the north margin of S.E.
128th Street (Pine Street) and a line east and west through
the center of blocks 7 and 12, all in Rainier Acres recorded
in Volume 14, Page 21, records of King County, together with
S.E. 128th Street between the east margin of 116th Avenue S.E.
extended south and centerline of 132nd Avenue S.E. extended
south.
Section 2: The above described annexed property contiguous to

No. 16 of Ward r- of the City of Renton, shall be and con-
stitute a part of Precinct No. 16 of Ward 1 of said City of Renton.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law; and
said annexation shall be effective on and after November 5, 1954. A
certified copy of this ordLnance shall be filed with the Board of County
Commissioners of King County2Washington, as provided by law.
