ORDINANCE NO. 1573
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CI TY CF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY (F RENTON FROM SUBURBAN
RESIDENCE USE DISTRICT (S-1) TO LIGHT INDUSTRIAL
DISTIaLCT (L-1) AND BUSINESS.DISTRICT (B-1).
WHEREAS, under Ordinance No. 1472, as amended, and the maps
adopted in conjunction therewith, the property hereinbelow described
has heretofore been zoned as Suburban Residence Use District (S;!l); and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Ordinance No. 1472, as amended,
a proper petition for change of zone classification of said property to
Light'.1.1ndUstrial District (1,-1) has been filed A th
the
City
Clerk of
the City of Renton, and the Planning Commission of
said
City
having duly
approved said change of classification, provided that portions of the
area to be re -zoned be designated and re -zoned as Business District (B-1),
$g hereinafter defined, and a public hearing having been held thereon
by the Planning Commission of the City d' Renton on September 26, 1956,
pursuant to notice of hearing duly published and post;d as provided by
law, and no protest or objections haveing been filed or made; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE (I TY OF
RENTON, AS FO LLOWS:
SECTION I: The following described property in the City of Ren-
ton is hereby re -zoned and re-classified from Suburban Residence Use
District (S-1), to Light Industrial District (L-1) and a certain northerly
portion of said area to Business District (B-1), as hereinafter described,
and the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to change the
maps of the zoning ordinance of the City of Renton to show and evidence
these changes; said property being described as follows:
All that partition of the NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section
16, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., described as
follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of the NW 1/4 of the
NW 1/4 of Section 16, Township 23 North, Range 5 East,
W. M., thence N 89112142t1 West along the north line of
said Section 16, a distance of 315.66 feet; thence S
1008126" West along a line 30 feet easterly of and parallel
with the east line of the State of Washington tract ( the
description of which is recorded in Volume 2045 of Deeds,
page 487, records of King County, Washington) , a distance

of 660.30 feet; thence N 89012142" West a distance of
135.58 feet; thence S 1°08126" West a distance of 659.51
feet more or less to the south line of the said NW 1A
of the NW JA of Section 16, thence S 89006138" East
along said south line a distance of 452.00 feet to the south-
east corner of the said NW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 16;
thence N 1006127" East a dis tgn.ce of 1320.61 feet more or
less to the point of beginning, less the north 30 feet
thereof for County road and less the right-of-way of the
Puget Sound Power & Light Company (Snoqualmie Power Company,)
Providing, however, that the North 330 feet of the herein-
above described property be zoned and classified as Business
District Use (B-1),
all situate in Renton, King County, Washington,
and said re -zoning to be subject to the provisions of Ordinance No. 1472,
as amended by Ordinance No. 1542.
SECTION II: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and legal publication.
