AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ADOP=TING,
ESTABLISHING AND DEFINING A CODE FOR THE STORAGE AND HANDLING
OF LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GASES, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIO-
LATIONS THEREOF, AND REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCE'S IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
WHEREAS, not less than three printed copies in book form of the code,
entitled "Storage and H andling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases11.NBFU No. 58,
as per standards established by the National Board of Fire Underwriters,
issued July, 1954 has heretofore been filed in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Renton for use and examination by the public, and it is deemed
advisable to adopt same by reference as provided by law, together with amend-
ments thereof or additions thereto; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 14AYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: This said code. on the use, storage and handling of "Lique-
fied Petroleum Gases", issued July, 1954, by the National Board of Fire Un-
derwriters, and as recommended by the National Fire Protection Association,
also known as NBFU Code No. 5811, of which not less than three printed copies
in book form have heretofore been filed in the office of the City Clerk, is
hereby adopted as the "Liquefied Petroleum Gases Code" for the City of Renton,
and any and all amendments thereof and additions thereto when printed and
filed with the City Clerk by authorization of the City Council shall be con-
sidered accepted, be and constitute part of such Code without the necessity of
• further adoption of such amendments or additions by the legislative -authority
of the City or by Ordinance;
SECTION II: By the reference thereto made hereinabove, said "Liquefied
Petroleum Gases Code" togetYer with any and all amendments thereof and addit-
ions thereto hereafter printed and filed with the City Clerk as hereinabove
specified, are incorporated in and made a part of this ordinance as fully and
with the same effect as if set out herein in full, or as if adopted by subse-
quent ordinances amendatory hereof.
SECTION III: This Ordinance shall not be construed to relieve from or
lessen responsibility of any person using, storing or handling any liquefied
petroleum gases in the City of Renton, for damages to anyone injured or dam-
aged either in person or property by any defect therein; nor shall the City of
Renton or any agent thereof be held as assuming such liability by reason of
inspection authorized herein or certificate of inspection issued by the City
or any of its agents.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval and legal publication as provided by law.
