AN ORDINANCE -OF THE CITY.OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
TRANSFERRING APPROPRIATIONS OF FUNDS BETWEEN
GENERAL CLASSES.OF EXPENDITURES OF THE GARBAGE
DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1957 Annual Budget,
the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests
of the -City of Renton and for the protection of the health, welfare
and sanitation of the -City of Renton that its compulsory garbage
collection service be provided by an independent private contractor; and
WHEREAS, the anticipated revenue in the.City"s 1957 Annual
Budget for said Garbage Department had been fixed and determined
in the sum of_$64,395.00 which revenues have been increased in the
sum of $34,281.00 over and above _the amount fixed in said Annual
Budget, and
WHEREAS, as a result:of increasing said garbage collection
service, the cost.of operating said Garbage. Department has thus
exceeded the amount of revenue determined and fixed in the City"s
1957 Annual Budget, but said increase being less than the excess
of estimated revenues received and to be received during the year
1957; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the proper administration
and operation of the City's Garbage Department to transfer appro-
priations to the general classes and expenditures from the funds
received in excess of estimated revenues, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: That the foregoing recitals and facts are
hereby found to be true and existing and that the transfers as
specified hereinbelow are found to be in the best interests of
the.City of.Renton.

.SECTION II: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to make the following transfers of appropriations in
the Garbage Department, to -wit:
1.' Transfer from Garbage Department, "Salaries
and Wages" unto."Utility Services" (garbage
contract payments) the sum of $ 3310006.00
2. Transfer from Garbate Department,."Main-
tenance and Operation, Rentals" unto
"Utility Services" (garbage contract
payments) the sum of $ 10,079.00
3.Transfer from Garbage Department,,"Capital
Outlay", unto "Utility Services" (garbage
contract payments) the sum of .$ 93,500.00
4. Transfer from funds received in excess of
estimated revenues in Garbage Department
unto•"Utility Services" (garbage contract
.payments) the sum .of $.26,215.00
5. Transfer from funds received in excess of
estimated revenues in Garbage Department
unto Maintenance and Operation."Taxes',
the sum of $ 2,520.00
TOTAL TRANSFERS between general classes
and from funds received in excess of
estimated revenues $_812320.00
SECTIONIII: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication.
