NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES -OF THE CITY 'OF RENTON", BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: Existing -Section 5-1602 of Chapter 16 of Title V (Business Regulations) reading as follows: Cct-%- I � Z I "'Section 51602: ANNUAL FEES: The annual license fee for each dog over four (4) months of age shall be as follows: Each male dog Each female dog $ 1.00 .4.00 Provided that if the application for a license for a spayed female dog is accompanied by a certificate from a duly licensed veterinary surgeon, that said female dog has been properly spayed, the annual license fee shall be the sum of one dollar ($1.00) for such female dog." BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: Section 5»1602 As Amended: ANNUAL FEES: The annual license fee, based on the calendar year, for each dog over four (4) months of age shall be as follows: Each male dog Each female dog $ 1.00 4.00 Provided that if the application for a license for a spayed female dog is accom- panied by a certificate.from a duly licensed veterinary surgeon, that said female dog has been properly spayed, the annual license fee shall be the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) for such female dog. The annual license fee shall be taken out on or before the 31st day of January of each year and if the owner or custodian of such dog fails to procure and pay for such license before said date, or within thirty (30) days of acquiring the ownership or custody of any such dog, a late charge of fifty cents ($.50) shall be added to the regular license fee. The City may require reasonable evidence to determine the date of acquisition or custody of any such dog to ascertain whether a late charge shall be imposed. The City Clerk is authorized to permit the Pound Master and any duly licensed veterinarian practicing his profession within theCityof .Renton to sell and issue licenses, and to impose such regulations as may be reasonable to carry out the provisions of this paragraph. SECTION II: There is hereby established and added a new Section to be r known as Section 51609 reading as follows: Section 5 -1609, -Chapter 16 » CHARGES FOR COLLECTION AND DISPOSITION OF ANIMALS: The following fees are hereby fixed and established to residents and non-residents of the City respectively for the care and final disposition of animals when brought to the -City Pound or when picked up by the Pound Master at the owners request, to -wit: Female dog with pups Adult dog Female cat with kittens Kittens only Pups only Adult cats Residents $' 2.00 1.25 1.25 .50 each .50 each .75 -each Non -Residents $ 2.50 L.50 1.50. .50 each .50 each 1.00 each The -City -Clerk shall furnish unto the Pound Master all stationery report forms, ,including receipts numbered in .consecutive order, and :all written reports shall .be made by the pound Master unto the City Clerk, monthly, together with -an accounting of all funds received and disbursed.? The Pound .Master shall receive such fees and compensation for the care, collection and final disposition of animals as may be fixed by ordinance from time to time. SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and legal publication. PASSED BY THE CITY -COUNCIL this day of.January, 1959.
