ORDINANCE N0. 1245
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, FIXING THE BUS
STOPS IN THE CITY OF RENTON: PROVIDING THAT THERE SHALL BE NO PARK-
ING IN SAID BUS STOPS, FIXING CERTAIN OTHER AREAS IN FRONT OF THEATRES
AS NO PARKING AREAS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATIONS HEREOF,
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1208 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, do ordain as
follows :
Section 1: In order to more effectively regulate traffic, there
shall be and hereby is established bus stops in which parking shall be
prohibited, in the following places:
On the west side of Mill Street, from the north side of Second
Avenue to a point 75 feet north thereof;
On the north side of Third Avenue, from the west side of Main
Street to a point 112 feet west thereof;
On the north side of Third Avenue, from a point 45 feet east of
Logan Street to a point 83 feet east of Logan Street;
On the North side of Third Avenue, from the west side of Morris
Street to a point 41 feet west thereof;
On the north side of Third Avenue, from a point 625 feet west of
Shattuck Street, to a point 674 feet west thereof;
On the south side of Third Avenue, from a point 411 feet West of
Shattuck Street, to a point 461 feet west thereof;
On the south side of Third Avenue, from the east margin of
Whitworth street, to a point 50 feet east thereof;
On the south side of Third Avenue, from the west line of Northern
Pacific Railway tracks, to a point 40 feet west thereof;
On the south side of Third Avenue, from the east margin of Wells
Street to a point 114 feet east thereof;

On the east side of Mill Street, from a point 75 feet north

of the North margin of Howser Way to a point 125 feet north of said
north margain of Howser :stay.
Section 2: Vehicles other than buses are prohibited from park-
ing in the areas mentioned in Section One hereof, except that between
the hours of 8:30 A. M., and 4:30 P. M., the westerly 20 feet of the
bus stops on the north side of Third Avenue, west of Main Street, and
the easterly 20 feet of the bus stops on the south side of Third Avenue
east of Wells Street, are hereby designated as truck zones and may be
used by trucks for loading and unloading purposes only,b:etween the hours
hereinabove set out.
Section 3: There shall be maintained a no parking zone in the
areas in front of the Renton, Rainier and Roxy Theatres, during the
times that shows are in progress.
Section 4: That Ordinance No. 1208 and all other ordinances and
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5: Any persons violating any provisions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be
fined in any sum not exceeding $10.0.00 or by imprisonment not exceeding
30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Any vehicle parked in
any of the bus zones or no parking zones, as set out herein, are hereby
declared to be a nuisance. Such nuisance may be summarily abated by
removing the mehicle by or under the direction of a police officer, by
means of towing to a vehicle pound. The police department shall as
soon as practical after impounding, obtain the name and address of the
registered owner of the impounded vehicle, as shown by the records of
the authority last licensing said vehicle, and within 48 hours after
obtaining such information send written notice that the vehicle has
been impounded to the registered owner thereof at such address.
Section 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five
days from and after its passage, approval and legal publication as
provided by law.
