The goal is to create an art exhibit from the City’s collection. Liz also mentioned that
4Culture has funds for capital improvements with “Building for Culture” grants. The
Renton History Museum, along with the Civic Theater and the Carco, applied for
capital grants.
Barbara McMichael announced that there will be a South King County Arts
Commission Summit on February 24, 2016 at the Tukwila Community Center. This
event will be catered by Project Feast, a job training program for immigrant women.

Jen Gonthier and her colleagues from the Renton Technical College teach a Fine Arts

like to be involved with Renton’s art collection. The project outline needs to be

Old Business:
Art Project Ideation and Art Project Initiative - Marsha selected the Wells Ave S./Post
Office sidewalk strip as the project for this year to implement with some of the
remaining funds available. It will be an “Art Garden” with low-maintenance, drought
tolerant plants and three concrete figure planters sculpted by a Renton artist. The
current strip has been maintained by Neil and his family and the Post Office has
appreciated their service. Marsha will advise the Post Office of the Art Garden Project.
The cost estimate for materials, landscaping, sculptures and installation is $2000.
Film Frenzy Final Report – There were 17 participants in the Film Frenzy. The
Screening and Gala reception was held at the Carco Theater and was well attended.
RMAC Budget Update and Discussion – As of October 31, 2015, the remaining balance
from the RMAC General Fund is $2,018.62. Outstanding payments for high resolution
photos of the art collection and new RMAC logo plaques will reduce this amount.
There is a $2000 balance in the Grants Fund.
Arts and Culture Master Plan – Elizabeth presented a revised draft of the RMAC
Master Plan in the same format as the City Center Plan. RMAC members are to
review it and provide comments and changes to her by November 20, 2015. The final
