New Business:
Development of Grant Guidelines – Evaluation criteria for grant categories needs to
be updated. Some revisions to the applications are also needed; i.e., add list of other
funding sources so that grants are given where most needed. Guidelines are open for
further discussion with date TBD.
Renton River Days 2016 – The dates are July 22 -24, 2016. RMAC needs to decide
early if we will participate. There was no direct involvement this year but we had the
opportunity to share space with Arts Unlimited. More RMAC initiative is necessary if
we intend to be represented next year.
RMAC Tour of Greenbridge in October – Greenbridge is a White Center community
that is filled with Public Art. Elizabeth will check the availability of their tour guide for
a weekend date in October. Paul mentioned that Arts Unlimited was planning
fieldtrips to neighboring community art galleries and RMAC members are welcome.
Old Business:
Film Frenzy Update – The Screening and Gala will be held at the Carco Theater on
Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 7:00 pm. They received a RMAC grant of $2900 in
support of this project.
RMAC Budget Update and Discussion –The year to date 2015 actual expenditures and
remaining available balances from the General Fund ($460.62/$2268.91) and our
4Culture Sustainable Grant ($9,500/$2,000) was presented and discussed. Elizabeth
has a meeting scheduled with Facilities to determine how much of the art
maintenance and updates for new and replacement plaques will be RMAC
responsibility.
One Percent for Art Program Presentation – Elizabeth presented the Power Point
presentation that she had done for Renton’s Administration and City Council. The
presentation is very well done with the history of the One Percent for Art Imitative, its
evolution, art selection process and potential projects from future funding.
