The City Council oP the City of i�enton do ordain as follows;
Section 1: It shall be unlawPul for any person, firm or
corporation to own or have in its control or possession within the
City limits of Renton, any coin operated phonograph, nickelodian
or other mechanical musical maehine, or Por any person, firm or
corporation to maintain or permi� to be operated on or in the
premises owned by him or it, or over which he or it shall have
control without first having secured and pa_id for a licen�e for
each and every such machine so owned, maintained, operated or
permitted to be operated.
Section 2: Said license snall be obtained from the City
Clerk of the City of Renton aPter application therefore has been
made to the City Council and permission given to such applicant by
� said City Cozzncil. The license for each said machine shall be
attached in plain view to such machine and shall license such Por
operation on such premises as may be specified on said license.

Such license ahall not be transferable from the premises licensed
to any other premises.
Section 3: The license fee to be cl?arged hereunder shall be
and is �24.00 per year, and all such licenses issued shall expire
on Deeember 31st of the year issued. IP license is taken out after
Ju].y First of an.y year, the license Pee shall be �12.00 for the
remaining portion of that year.
�ection 4: That no p erson, f irm. or corporation shall operate
or permit to be operated on or in the premises owned by him or it,
or over which he or it shall have control, any coin operated

phonograph, nickelodian or any other mecha.nical musical machine
or devise between the hours of 10:00 P. �. and 10:00 A. M. , upon
sueh premises if ad�acent to or near premises in which sleeping
rooms and accomodations are occuppied. ��,
Section 5: nll ordinances or parts of ordinances in con�liet ,
herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 6: Any person, firm or corporatiog violating or fail-
ing to comply with anq of the provisions oP this ordinance shall be I
guilty oP a misdemeanor, and upon convietion thereof shall be fined
in any sum not to e xceed �1.00.00, or by imprisonment in the City I
Jail Por a term of not more than thirty (30) days or by both such
find and imprisonment, and the license ot' such person, firm or i,
corporation may be revoked. I�i
�ection 7; That iP any seetion or provision or part thersoP
in this ordinance shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional
such ad�udication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as
a whole or any section, provision, or part thereoP not adjudged in-
valid or unconstitutional.
�ection 8: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
�i�e days from and after its approval , passage and legal publication.
