The City Council of the City of Per�ton do ordain as �
follo�s: • . -
SECTSQN I: It shaTl be unlav�ful for any person
to operate a motor ve?�icle in a negligent manner over and
a.Iong the public highv�rays of this City. For the purpose
of this sectifln, to t�operate in � negligen.t manner�t shall
be construed to r�ean tn.e operation of a vehicle upon the
public highv�ays of this City in such a �.anner as to nn- �
danger, or be likely to e�danger, any person or property.
SECTTON II: The offense o� operating a vehicZe
in a negligent manner shall be considered to be a lesser
offense than, but included in, the offense of operating
a vehicle in a reckZess manner, as defined by the ordinances
of the City of Renton, and any person charged tiRd3.tI1 opsrating
a vehicle in a r�ckless manner may be convicted of the
Iesser offense of operating a vehicle in a nsgligent nan.ner.
' SECTION III: Any person violating the provision �
� . of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
- shall bp fined in any sum. not exceQding �IOO.OQ, or im-
prisoned not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and
'� imprisonment.
