The �i.ty Cauncil o�' the Cit�Jr of Renton, �Yashinbton, does ordain �s
Fo�Io�vs:
Section 1; Every person, lodge, societ�, �raternal or social organi-
zation, carp�ration, desiring to hold a dance open for public . ac�mission
sha11, before holding or giving such dance, apply in writing to the �i t f
Clerk of the C�ty of Renton, �Vashin�ton for a license for such dance.
Such application shall be si�ned by the applicant, shall state the date
on which the dance is to be given, the place where same 3.s to be held,
the names of the person or persons, lodge, society, fraternal or social
or�,anization, corporation, giving the said dance, or for crhase benefst
�he same is given, an� it shall be accompan3.ed by the su� o� Five anc�
no/100 (�5.00) D011ars.
Section 2; Upon receipt ��' such applicatic�n accom•1�ani ed �y tr.e sum
aforesaid, if the person or persons applying therefor are prover persons
to be in charge of such dance the City Clerk aha11 issue to such r�erso�
or persons a license 'to hold or give a c7ance at the time and nlac� set
forth in such application.
Section 3: The City Clerk shall immediately noti.fy the ChieP of
�olice of the City o� Renton of the time and pl ace such dance is to be
held as shown in said application. It sha11 be the d_uty of the Chief i
of Police to appoint some member of the police force to remain in
attendance at such dance for the purpose of maintaining the same in a
quiet and orderly nanner from the beginning thereof to the termination
thereof.
Section 4; All applications for a license to hold a dance must be
made not less than twenty-four hours previous to the time of holding such
c�ance. �I
Sec'�ion 5: Any person �iving or holding a dance in the City of Renton
open to public admission without first complying with the provisions of

tni� ordinance and obtaining a license therefb r in the manner herein set
�orth sha11 be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof aha11
be fined in any sum not exceeding the sum o� One Hundred (�100.00) dollars.
Section 6: Ordinanee No. 179 entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIllING FOR
TH� LICENSIIdG OF ALI.� PUBLIC D.ANCES IN THE CITY OF RENTOYd, WASHINGTON, AND

TO THE CLOSE TH�REOF, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION HEREOF�� and

Section 7: Tnis ordinance shall be in full force and e�`fect five
(5) days from and after its passage, approval and legal pul�lication.
