Section 1. T�.�,i�REAS ��en making the budget for the c�urrent
fiscal year it could not reasonably have been foreseen that the Street
and Sewer
JDepartment would require the �-����.L : �.�. ..�t A��A p�chase and use of a
con.siderable quantity of material to �.�-��:.�.a� repair and maintain
certain streets of the city which have become worn by unusually heavy
traf�ie; and
�VHERE.�1�S it has beeome necessary to have certain streets re-
surfaced,the city to purchase the material and pay the fo�ce account
for the State Highwa�r Depar�ment to repaif� such streets; a.n.d
�iL+'RF�.S it is fov.nd necessary to pu.rchase a motor tractor
and grader to maintain the gravelled ai[� and dirt roads in the city

WHER�AS in ma.king the estimates for the current year the '
budget item�' for labor in the department was estimated too high and
that for material too low by about twelve hundred dollars,leaving an.
estimated surplus of that amount in the former item which will be un-
expended this fiscal year; and
�fiER�1S it is estimated that the tractor and grader needed �`�
�;-��.��%'`�?`x a c'�„
will cost approximately e�hteen. hundred dollars; and
VV�EREti.S said emergeney is not one of those described in �
Section 6,Chapter 158,Zaws of 1923;NOW,TIiER�FORE, BE IT
ORDAII�IED, That there be and hereby is appropriated in add-
itioY� to the amount provicied in the budget for 1925 the sum of Three
Thousand Dollars (�30QOj out of the Current Expense fund for the pur-
pose of pa�ing for � �aintenance and operation of the street and
herein
sewer department in accorda.nce with the facts/�-ywt� stated, and an emer-
gency is hereby deelared to exist.
Seetion 2. This ordinance shall not be passed until one week
shall have elapsed after its introduction. It �hall require the unan-
imous vote of the �nembers of the council present and the mayor�s approval
and shall take effect five days after its passage ,ap�roval anci legal
publication.
