2. Aqencv Visits in `09: Dianne Utecht, Community Development Block Grants Specialist, discussed
visiting the agencies that we are funding in 2009. While not mandatory, it would provide Committee
members greater insight in to what these agencies do and how they help. The Committee expressed an
interest in visiting St. Vincent de Paul, Valley Cities Counseling & Consultation, the Multi-Service Center,
and the Emergency Feeding Program. Members agreed that Fridays 11:30 am or after would be the
best time for most. There was also discussion about visiting a housing program such as ARISE.
Samantha suggested they could volunteer one evening. Adria asked if there are regulations mandating
how often we should go visit the agencies, Dianne replied that there are not for agencies receiving City
of Renton funds.
3. Budaet Updates:
■ Dianne Utecht stated that the '09 budget passed. While there were budget cuts, none were in
agency funding or staff.
■ Dianne clarified that according to the King County proposed budget, Renton Area Youth and
Family Services will be receiving about $20,000 less, not the$200,000 mentioned at the last
meeting. She reviewed the proposed King County funding for other Renton agencies.
4. Committee Attendance: Staff noted that the terms for Magie Albritton, Rob Spier, and Samantha
Williams would expire on December 31, 2008. Rob and Samantha expressed their desire to be
reappointed, and Margie said she would get an answer to staff by November 24.
5. Approval of Minutes:
It was moved and seconded to approve the October 2008 meeting minutes. Motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
