COMMENTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The benefits broker conducted a survey on skilled nursing home facility rates in Washington
State. The broker reported that the average rate for Washington State is $213 per day. Staff
also presented results of a hearing aid survey that staff conducted. The City of Renton appears
to be competitive with the amount that it pays for hearing aids. Staff also discussed the rate
structure with 2 Audiologists and they recommended eliminating the digital programmable
hearing aid and the analog. Analog aids make up less than 2%of the aids prescribed and digital
programmable hearing aids have been replaced by digital aids.
