The meeting was called to order by Bob Elliot at 4:35 p.m.
Minutes
Margaret Feaster made a motion seconded by Jean Hobart to approve the November 2,
2006 minutes as written. All were in favor, minutes approved.
CORRESPONDENCE/ANNOUNCEMENTS/CLIPPINGS
1. Craig Paynter passed around a notice of the new bridge over Issaquah Creek on the
May Valley Road and also a photo of the kiosk on the Cedar River Trail near the
Elliot Bridge.
2. Bob Elliot passed around an article from the Seattle Times about BNSF line on the
Eastside of Lake Washington.
REPORTS
Parks Department: Leslie Betlach passed out a DVD titled, "Welcome to the Center of
Opportunity."
Renton's Parks and Recreation Divisions will be recommended to be recertified by the
re-accreditation team members. (Final recommendation will occur in Mid-February
2007.)

Ground was broken for the new partion of the Springbroak Trail. Ground breaking far
the Sam Chastain Waterfront Trail is scheduled for November 20q7.
Jean Hobart asked about park damage during the flooding iast rnonth. City facilities
faired quite well.
OLD BUSINESS
1. Recruiting Members: Pete Maas will call Rick Gamble to inc�uire if he is stiii
interested in being a cammittee member.
Bob E11iot suggested the committee wait until January 2007 to advertise for new
committee meznbers.
NEW BUSINESS
Brainstorm for 200'7 Goals:
1. Leslie Betlach suggested the cornmittee look at their current By-Laws arid form a
three person subcommittee along with Leslie to evaluate and recommen�d changes.
Pete Maas moved#a form a three-person committee to look at By-Laws. Motion
seconded. Discussion followed.
Janene Sestak, Craig Paynter, Pete Maas and Margaret Feaster volunteered ta serve.
Motion passed. Craig Paynter will be Chair.
2. Develop a city-wide map of trails. The consultant hired for the
Transportation/Community Services Traiis Plan will create the map.
3. Review current state of trails, i.e., Logan Bridge, Boeing Bridge, Airport, and
Highlands.
4. Pete Maas' goals:
• Fill vacancies an committee. Submit letter to Mayar on time.
• Rework By-Laws.
• Define required "trail connectors"and determine recommended routes.
• Create a handautJflyer for committee.
• Work with the city on a bike map(identify restraom lacations).
• Revise bike plan to include annexed areas..
* Develop new plan for trail signage(work with cansultant on this).
5. Margaret Feaster's list:
• Install kiosk at Cammunity Center by Library.
• Look at bicycle parking at old City Hall.
• Boath/Radeo at Renton River Days.
• Identify areas where bike racks can be installed.
• Research possibility for a bike ferry that would carry bike cammuters.

6. Craig Paynter:
• Promote pedestrian-bicycle commuters' awareness of CO2. City statement
from the Mayor?
� Review current status of proposed/completed trails.
• Develop a Web link.
• Promotion of carbon-neutral lifestyles (non-motorized) transportation.
7. Review road crossing near Boeing at 6�'& Park and 5`h& Park.
8. Review areas where high traffic speed conflicts with bicycle use.
OPEN ISSUES
None presented.
Bob Elliot made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 5:37 p.m.
