The following corrections were made to the Apri13, 2008, meeting minutes. On page

that it was not his intention to have a trails informational flyer to hand out. The
handout the subcommittee is working on is more of an explanation of what the
committee is about. Also on page 3, under the heading Old Business, item 1, 3`
paragraph, change the 2°d sentence to read:
"If there were more breaks in the curb this would allow a bicyclist to make a
transition to the shoulder."

VI. DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Logan Avenue Bike Lane: Terry Flatley reported that Council authorized funding
to complete design for a southbound lane from the intersection of Logan/Park south
to North 6`h. The project has been advertised to bid and the bid opening is
scheduled for June. Anticipated construction will be this summer. Bob Elliot
commented that the signage on Logan Avenue North&Park Avenue North is not
very clear. Going north on Park Avenue when you hit Logan Avenue the sign is not
clear that Park Avenue veers to the right. Terry Flatley will mention it to the
Transportation Department.
Springbrook Trail is under construction with an estimated completion date of 4cn
quarter 2008.
Trails and Bicycle Master Plan: Terry Flatley noted the city has reviewed the
preliminary 80%document and expects the final 80%document in July or August
2008. We anticipate an open house in September; however, no date has been set.
A re-cap of the May Park Board meeting was presented by Pete Maas.

VIL OLD BUSINESS
1. Renton River Days: Pete Maas distributed a draft flyer to the committee
members present for review. The subcommittee met a couple weeks ago to
brain storm and get ideas for this flyer. Pete Maas also mentioned he would
try to get a hold of other maps related to bicycling and trails in the area and
bring them in for distribution during Renton River Days. Some of the items
he brought in for samples were: King County Map, Safe Bicycling in King
County Washington, Bicycle License Plates (post card by Bicycle Alliance of
WA).
2. The City will have a large Draft Trails Map in the Community Services River
Days booth mounted on foam core for viewing by the public.
3. Any flyer the Committee develops needs to be emailed to Leslie
Betlach/Margie Beitner for City review and approval.
4. The current version of the Park Rules and Regulations was distributed to
members during the meeting. Please note "Trail Etiquette" section.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
1. The question was raised whether the committee wants to have an August
meeting. Out of the eight members present, six voted yes to having the
August meeting since there would not be another regular meeting until
October if August was missed. (Margaret Fester and Bob Elliot will be out of
town and not able to attend the August meeting) The next regular scheduled
meeting will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008.
2. The June Park Board Status Reports were handed out to committee members
during the meeting.
