INTEREST AND PENALTIES
The R�aI Estate Excise 'I'ax is due on the date af sale (date of the deed or contra�t af sale). A �ane-
percent per month interest is charged for del�nquent tax payment. This is not charged if the taa is I
paid within 30 c?ays af the date of sale. A five, ten, and twenty percent penalty on the state taxes �
is due frc�m the seiler if the tax is paid more than 30, 6Q, or 90 days past daze. There is a 50 percent '
}�enaity for intentionally evading payment of the tax.
AUDIT
The Department of�tevenue wi11 conduct audits of the transact�ons and, if��cessary, d�t�rmine any �
