Subject: Administrative Fence Permit (Variation from height restrictions)
Please review the-auacl1ed--docurnents 4"-egarding -our request -to build a6 foot tall cedar
fence on the side of our property.
Our property at 2841 NE 4th Ct is a comer lot adjacent to Ferndale Ave NE and NE 4th
Ct. We would like to build a fence as shown in the attached schematic. The fence will
begin on toe front comer -of -our house, go 25 feet -towards-the .sidewalk, -make a--right
angle and'then run parallel to the sidewalk for 40 feet. The fence will be set back from
the back of sidewalk about -12-feet.
The justification for the proposed fence height is as follows:
• The fence will be behind existing-weU-established-rhododendrons-and -tW{) -matur-e
trees and will end behind some bushes (i.e. there is permanent landscaping along
the front of the proposed fence.) -Please see attached photos.
• The fence style is called "presidential" which has a finished face on both siqes.
The fence will be composed-Of-eedar -and.omamental.materials.
• The fence will add privacy and security to our side yard. Currently, the yarq is
open to view from passing vehicles and houses across the street. OurA year-old
child often plays in the yard, there will be increased safety for her and motorists
because her toys will-be prevented from wIling int.o the street.
