Municipal Arts Commissioners Present: Natalie Gress, Bill Huls, Ben Andrews, Peter Hartley,Jerri
Everett, Britt McKenzie and Paul Hebron
Absent: Evelyn Reingold and Jaris English
City Staff Present:Jennifer Davis Hayes, Community& Economic Development
Guests: Marsha Rollinger,T.Y. Lau, Michele Bettinger,Janet Halford, Mitch Shepard
CALL TO ORDER: Commission Chair McKenzie called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: COMMISSIONER BRITT MCKENZIE PRESENTED THE MINUTES FOR NOVEMBER
TO THE GROUP AND ASKED IF ANYONE HAD ANY COMMENTS. PETER HARTLEY MOTIONED TO APPROVE
THE MINUTES, SECONDED BY BEN ANDREWS. COMMISSIONERS CONCURED, MOTION CARRIED.
PUBLIC ART PIECE OF OF THE MONTH
Bill was not prepared. His presentation was moved to January. Britt will present in February;Jaris will
present in March;lerri will present in April.
CORRESPONDENCE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: Jennifer Davis Hayes passed around the folder for people
to review. Other announcements include:
• Downtown library planning meeting in lanuary.Time TBA
• Michele Bettinger's"Aunt Dottie" show, 12/17, 7—9 pm at Renton Civic Theater
• "Annie" opens 12/7, at Renton Civic Theater, 8 pm
• Britt has a showing at Luther's Table this month, reception 12/8, 5-7 pm
OLD BUSINESS:
BRAVO AWARDS
Bravo awards will be presented at the 12/10 City Council meeting.There will be a reception in the
Council conference room at 6:30 pm. Mitch Shepard volunteered to take photos. Bravo recipients are:
Kevin Keiser from Evergreen City Ballet, Mike Simpson from Renton Concert Band, and Doug Kyes from
Allied Arts of Renton.

Carco Theatre Displav—Action Required:
Britt presented a PowerPoint display of artists that were selected by the committee to display at Carco
Theater in 2013. THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE ARTIST DISPLAY SLATE WAS MOVED BY BEN ANDREWS,
SECONDED BY NATALIE GRESS. COMMISSIONERS CONCURED, MOTION CARRIED.
Librarv Desi�n Team:
Since Denise Zullig has resigned from the Commission, her position as lead of this committee is open.
Peter has volunteered to fill this position.
NEW BUSINESS
Logo Development: Paul is moving forward with this project. He asked for 30 minutes at the January
meeting to present his process and gather input for design development.
Paul also announced a meeting 1/17/13 with Randy Matheson of the Renton School District. It will be a
get acquainted meeting to discuss what the school district does to support arts and culture and how the
Arts Commission can help. If anyone is interested in attending, please contact Paul.
Election of 2013 Officers:
The following officers were elected for the 2013 calendar year:
• Chair: Britt McKenzie
• Vice Chair: Paul Hebron
• Secretary: Jerri Everett
2013 Proposed Budget:
After discussion and some changes, it was MOVED BY PETER HARLEY SECONDED BY BEN ANDREWS TO
ACCEPT THE PRESENTED BUDGET WITH ADJUSTMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIPS TO INCREASE TO $215 AND
� NAME BADGES TO$200 AND A REDUCTION IN THE COMMITTEE PROJECT BUDGET LINE TO OFFSET
THESE INCREASES. COMMISSIONERS CONCURED, MOTION CARRIED.
ADJOURNMENT:
The December 4,2012, meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm. The next meeting will be one week later
and in a different location due to New Years Eve. The meeting will be on lanuary 8, 2013, in the Council
Conference room on the 7`h floor.
