Municipal Arts Commissioners Present: Britt McKenzie,Michele Bettinger, Marsha Rollinger,Peter
Harley, Mitch Sheperd, Evelyn Reingold,Jaris English,Jerri Everett,T.Y. Lau, Ben Andrews, Natalie Gress,
Bill Huls

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: COMMISSIONER BRITT MCKENZIE PRESENTED THE MINUTES FOR JANUARY
2013. THERE WERE NO COMMENTS OR CORRECTIONS. EVELYN REINGOLD MOVED TO APPROVE THE
MINUTES SECONDED BYJARIS ENGLISH. MOTION APPROVED.
CORRESPONDENCE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: Jennifer Davis Hayes passed around the correspondence
folder for individual review.
March is Music Month for Friends of Renton Schools fundraising
Renton Civic Theater Auction, March 9,6 pm, Renton Technical College
Renton Civic Theater production "The Foreigner"opens February 15
Arts&Heritage Day in Olympia, February 6
Neighbor to Neighbor workshop, February 9,8 am-11:30 am, Renton Senior and Activity Center
OLD BUSINESS:
Committee Report action required:
Renton FilmFrenzy will be managed by the Arts Commission in 2013. Funding will remain from the
Renton Community Marketing Campaign and their consultant will continue to assist with the event. The
same planning committee,including Arts Commissioners Ben Andrews and Mitch Shepherd,will
continue to work on the project and outreach is underway to broaden the committee involvement.
The Commission has received 14 grant applications and the Executive Committee invited interested
Commissioners to join them to review and make the recommendation for funding to the full

Cammission in March. Commissioners Bill Huls, Marsha Rollinger and Evelyn Reingold volunteered. Alk
Cornmissioners can view the grant applications submitted on the Arts Commissian Google Drive.
The Commission retreat will be on March 2, 11:30 am--3 pm at Southport-Bristol Apartments I
community room.
NEW BU5INESS:
The Commission became aware of the opportunity to work with a cansultant and co-hort through the
Springboard program. lennifer will send additional infarmation and if anyane is interested in pursuing
this opportunity for this year or next,p(ease let her know by Thursday.

iCommissioners brake inta mentar groups to discuss arientatian needs and to set up a separate meeting
i ta continue discussions. Other topics discussed included building awarenessJcammunicatians,advocacy
i and resource devefopment.
Adiournment: The February 5,2013 meeting was ad}ourned at 6:40 pm. The next meeting wil}be held
