Interviewed.
• Kate from Senior Services called Shawn saying, "We have a problem. it is time to renew Fare Start's
Contract; they submitted a request increasing the cost of ineals one dollar per meal." This is way beyond the
capability of Senior Services to provide meals with this increase. Kate indicated they have another option; use
the on-site cook to prepare food from scratch.
Shawn introduced Cher our Nutrition Site Manager, Cook & Coordinator. Cher is excited to move
forward and cook from scratch; it is more practical all the way round. Cher insured the Advisory Committee
she is trained in culinary skilis to cook from scratch. The practicality of cooking from scratch is not only for
senior services since our expenditures keep going up and budget gets cut; cooking from scratch allows Cher
quality control over the food and cost of food. Dorothy Cook indicated plates are cold when delivered to
tables; Shawn asked why the plate warmers are not being used. Cher said for production I don't use the
warmers but wiiling to give them a whiri.

cost $101.80 cost Advisory Board $1.80); $25 from Barbara Peterson and $20 from the Leadleys in memory of
