SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR'S REPORT—Shawn Daly
• A BIG THANK YOU to Board Members who helped with the "Senior Stage Revue."
• Tim and I attended the shelter operation training May 10tn '
• A few months ago Rosie handed Shawn a Form 99T electronically. This form distinguishes the '
Advisory Board as a non-profit organization. Shawn took the form to Randy Ritualo who explained it needs
filing with IRS stating our status has not changed, have not generated over$25,000 in a given year and
continue to be a non-profit organization. Shawn asked if he could do it for us. He said, "Yes." i received this
letter from him stating, "Dear Mr. Daly: Please find attached acknowledgement by the Internal revenue i
I Service that Form 990-N has been filed and accepted for the tax year ending 12/31/2010. No further action is
required. Should you or any of the officers have questions, please contact my office. Randy Ritualo,
President." Shawn suggested, since Randy did not charge for his service, we send him a $50 gift certificate to
Melrose Steak House. It was moved by Rose Warren, second by Douglas Gregory to purchase a $50 gift
certificate for Randy. Motion Carried.
• Debbie and I on May 24-26 are attending the Annual State Conference being held in Ellensburg.
• Two surveys are going out this week; community services and Nutrition.
RECREATION DIRECTOR'S REPORT—Tim Williams
• Enjoyed Senior Stage Revue; especially Laugh-In performed by staff.
• With little resource they have I want to commend staff for their hard work and ihank them publicly,
• Parks Department is doing a Ranger Program for child safety. If you know anyone who have
children that would like to participate, I would be glad to direct that person to Kelly Beamer, Parks Director.
They would be working in pairs; whether they are in a golf cart, bike, etc... We are trying to get more safety
on the Cedar River Trail. Parks instituted new trail safety regulations this past year; dismount zones and
slower miles per hour.
• Youth Camps are slow on numbers; camps include Arts & Crafts, activities, field trips, etc.
Programs cover ages from pre-school thru junior high. Recreation pushing to fill these classes.
e For the Aquatic Centercan do your passes on-line. If you dorant to go in person to
purchase passes go to Cyber Sign-up. Discounts on passes through the end of May and then will go back to
the regular price. Pool and Beach officialiy opens on June 18th. ,
• On a two year budget. With the economy it is a little scary especially for recreation since it is a ,
non-essential service.
RECREATION COORDINATOR— Debbie Littie
' • New Yoga class begins tomorrow.
o Getting the word out that I am looking for a new computer instructor.
Book Club reading for May is "Running With Scissors."

many items in a jar, how much rope around a cylinder, how far between point A & B.
COMMElVTS:
Mary B. Brown—inquired about safety railing for Carco Theatre. Tim indicated there is Capital Improvement
funds in the budget that includes safety railing. Facilities trying to schedule it this year. The railing is a
concern that has been heard. At the next meeting I will give you an update about a time line.
Elaine Koehler and Dorothy Cook will audit the books after the meeting and report back.
Mary Burns-Haley thought it would be nice to have copies of the Golden Opportunities on the counter and
I not necessarily handing them out, just scattering them around. We have a potential group of people and we
are missing it. Shawn agreed and said it was his fault. Usually in the past he has them on hand. He became
real busy and forgot.
Rose Warren and Emilie McCue will take care of the flowers outside the Coffee Bar area.
President Ben Cheney adjourned the meeting at 10:51 AM.
