Good Afternoon,
The following costs were questioned at the Finance Committee dated 8/19/2019. Additional
information was obtained to further explain the purpose behind the expenditures.
Centurylink - $676.90
206-T32-4645 878B is a circuit ID which was assigned to the City by US West several months
before the City occupied the current City Hall building. When the circuit was ordered in early
1998, the 425 area code was not that old. This type of circuit is very different from most
phone numbers. It is called an integrated services digital network / primary rate interface
(ISDN/PRI). The 206-T32-4645 878B circuit delivers 23 telephone lines of service to the
telephone switch system at Renton City Hall.
Renton Chamber of Commerce - $8,333.34
These funds are for the contract to operate the visitor’s center. We have only held payment
on our annual dues to the Chamber until such time the Chamber puts together a payment
plan for the Renton Community Marketing Campaign monies owed to the City for 2018 &
2019. They were supposed to adopt that plan at their board meeting last Thursday
morning.
Weathernet, LLC - $319.00
This is the monthly subscription to Weathernet, which provides a very precise weather
forecast and warnings that are tailored for the Renton City limits. With this precise a
forecast we are better able to plan and prepare for storms.
