CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 3195
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
VACATING A PORTION OF THOMAS AVENUE S .W.
WHEREAS a proper petition for vacating a portion
of Thomas Avenue S .W. , Renton, King County, Washington, was
duly filed with the City Clerk on or about May 19, 1977 , and
said petition having been signed by owners representing more
than two-thirds of the property abutting upon such portion of
40 said street sought to be vacated; and
WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution No. 2111,
passed and approved on June 6 , 1977 , and after due investigation,
CM did fix and determine the 11th day of July, 1977 , at the hour

of 8 : 00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of the City of Renton
to be the time and place for a public hearing thereon, and the
City Clerk having given due notice of such hearing in the manner
provided by law, and all persons having been heard appearing in
favor or in opposition thereto; and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works and the Planning
Department of the City of Renton having duly considered said -
petition for said vacation, and having found same to be in the
public interest and for the public benefit, and no injury or
damage to any person or properties will result from such vacation;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The following described portion of Thomas
Ave . S .W. , to-wit:
All that portion of Thomas Ave. S .W. ( 83rd. Ave .
S . ) having a width of 60 feet, lying northerly
of the northerly Right of Way margin of .S.W.
16th Street extended and southerly of the southerly
Right of Way margin of Primary State Highway No . 1
(SR 405) and easterly of the easterly line of
Block 36 and westerly of the westerly line of

Block 37 , Plat of C. D. Hillman' s Earlington
Gardens Division No. 1 as recorded in Volume 17
•
of Plats , page 74, records of King County,
Washington
As situated within the E 1/2 of Section 24 ,
Township 23 N. , Range 4 E.W.M.
(More specifically located North of S .W. 16th
Street, South of Freeway 405, West of Raymond ,
Avenue S . W. and E. of Powell Ave . S .W. (Earlington
area of the City)
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY VACATED, subject to payment unto the
City by Petitioner-owners of the amount of $9, 000 . 00 which
said amount does not exceed 1/2 of the appraised value of the area
