SUBJECT: Administrative Report
• Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday, July 18th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piazza
Park in downtown Renton for the Renton Farmers Market. The market will be filled with
fresh flowers and a bounty of farm fresh produce every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. through September 26th. In addition to market fare, shoppers will enjoy live music,
food trucks, tips from Master Gardeners, cooking demonstrations, and children's activities.
And we are proud to continue our Fresh Bucks incentive program, which offers a dollar-for-
dollar match to be used on fresh produce for our SNAP shoppers. For more information,

• The Renton History Museum will be closed Monday, July 24th through Saturday, August 5th
for housekeeping, maintenance, and an exhibit refresh. The Museum will re-open with
regular hours on Tuesday, August 8th. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through
Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please watch the Museum's Facebook and Twitter feeds
for updates, or if you have questions, please call 425-255-2330.
• King County Sheriff's office has closed the Cedar River to all in-water recreation use from
Landsburg to Ron Regis Park. River closure signs will be posted on the entrance railing at
Ron Regis Park and on a post at Maplewood Roadside Park, and at the latter to alert people
who may be planning to drop off a shuttle car for a float ending at that point. Sign up for
River Hazard email updates on King County's website.
• The famous Renton Loop returns for one day only on August 19th! The "Cruz the Loop"
event will run from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Renton High School, with cruising from 4:00 to
5:00 p.m. It will be an afternoon of music, food, and family fun, capped by cars cruising the
loop. Registration is now open, so get your spot early. VIP registration costs $40 and
includes VIP parking (close to entertainment stage and a larger spot), first out when it's time
to cruise, �ruz the Loop t-shirt, commemorative poster, window cling, and key chain.
General registration is $20 and includes special parking, Cruz the Loop t-shirt, and a window
cling. To register, visit rentonwa.gov/cybersignup. Use code 60092 for VIP, and 60093 for
general.

Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the
following locations:
✓ Monday, July 17th through Friday, July 21st, 7:00 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Additional truck
traffic and hauling will occur in the vicinity of Valley Medical Hospital related to the
construction of the new parking garage. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at

✓ Monday,luly 17th through Friday,luly 21st, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Northbound Talbot
Road South between northbound I-405 on-ramp and southbound I-405 off-ramp will be
closed daily for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Rohini

✓ Monday,July 17th through Friday,July 21st, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Northbound lane
closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction. Questions
may be directed to Brad Stocco at 425-282-2373.
✓ Monday,July 17th through Friday,July 21st, 9:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. Northbound East
Valley Highway between SW 19th Street and Lind Avenue SE will be closed daily for the
I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair at 206-999-

✓ Monday, July 17th through Friday,July 21st. Northbound and southbound nighttime
lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I-405 are scheduled this week related to
the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. More detailed information
about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table. The

work for concrete restoration starting at 7:00 p.m.to 10:00 p.m. Traffic restricted to
one lane in each direction at the 4800 Block of NE 4th Street for roadway and utility

closure on East Valley Highway at SW 41st Street for utility and roadway construction.

closure on Main Avenue South at South 188th Street for utility and roadway

✓ Monday,July 17th through approximately Thursday,July 20th, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Street maintenance crews will be repairing pavement in both directions along Rainier
Avenue North between Airport Way South and West Perimeter Road. Expect
intermittent lane closures daily Mondays through Thursdays. Questions may be

✓ Monday,July 17th through Sunday,July 23rd. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

✓ Monday,July 17th through Friday, July 21st, 8:00 p.m.to 6:00 a.m. The right curb lane
along northbound Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) between 131st Avenue SE and Blaine
Drive SE will be closed for utility maintenance repairs. Questions may be directed to
Surface Water Maintenance Lead Nathan Nelson at 425-757-4102.
✓ Monday,July 17th through approximately Friday, July 28th. South 2nd Street, east of
and adjacent to the intersection of Main Avenue South and South 2nd Street, will be
closed for a period not to exceed two months. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to

✓ Monday, July 17th through approximately Friday,July 28th. Complete road closure of
Harrington Avenue NE, Sunset Lane NE, and Glennwood Avenue NE for approximately
one year to accommodate the Sunset Lane NE Roadway Improvements Project. Detours

✓ Monday,July 17th through approximately August 31st. Expect some intermittent lane
closures in the Highlands as a result of the Highlands Sewer Main and Manhole
Rehabilitation Project, between NE Sunset Blvd and NE 4th Street, from approximately I-
405 to Monroe Avenue NE. Questions may be directed to John Hobson at 425-430-

✓ Monday,July 17th through Friday, September 29th. Full road closure on Harrington
between Sunset Lane NE and Harrington Avenue NE as well as a full road closure on
Harrington Avenue NE between NE 10th Street and Sunset Lane NE will be in place as
part of the Sunset Lane Capital Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to

✓ Monday,July 17th through approximately Friday, October 6th. WSDOT will be
repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR
169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Blaine Drive Vic (MP 24.84).

Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours and will result in a reduction
of lanes as outlined below:
Daytime closures (up to one lane at a time in either the westbound or eastbound
direction, not concurrently):
• Westbound —Lane closure permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
• Eastbound —Lane closure permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Nighttime closures (up to 2 lanes will be permitted in either the westbound and/or
eastbound direction:
• Westbound —Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Westbound —Lane closures permitted between 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m.
Sunday.
• Eastbound —Lane closures permitted between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Eastbound —Lane closures permitted between 10:00 p.m. Saturday to 7:00 a.m.
Sunday.

construction traffic due to the construction of Sartori Elementary School at the 300
block of Park Avenue North and Garden Avenue North. Questions may be directed to

✓ Thursday,July 20th 9:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. The left-turn lane from northbound Burnett
Avenue South to South 2nd Street will be closed for utility maintenance work.

✓ Monday,July 24th through Tuesday,luly 25th, 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The right curb

✓ Wednesday,July 26th, 8:00 p.m.to 6:00 a.m. The right curb lane of eastbound Sunset
Blvd North at Kirkland Avenue NE will be closed for utility maintenance repairs.

✓ Thursday, July 27th, 8:00 p.m.to 6:00 a.m. The right curb lane of westbound NE 4th
Street at 3409 NE 4th Street (just east of Monroe Avenue NE) will be closed for utility
maintenance repairs. Questions may be directed to Surface Water Maintenance lead
Nathan Nelson at 425-757-4102.
✓ Monday,July 17th through approximately Friday, August 18th. The intersection of NE
10th Street and Harrington Avenue NE will be closed to accommodate construction of
the Sunset Neighborhood Park and surrounding area. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to

✓ Tuesday,July 18th through approximately Friday, September 1st. The City of Kent will
be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along 80th Avenue South between
South 194th Street and South 190th Street. This project is near the City of Renton
border. Lane reductions and/or closures may impact Renton residents. A map of the
affected area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to City

✓ Friday,July 28th, 7:00 p.m.through approximately Monday,July 31st, 5:00 a.m.
WSDOT will be closing a portion of SR 900 to conduct culvert replacement. Traffic will
be detoured around the project site for the duration of the weekend. A copy of the
